Arunachal CM launches tourist e-ILP portal

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday launched a web-based application for issue of electronic Inner Line Permit (e-ILP) to tourists in the presence of IT Minister Wangki Lowang, Tourism Minister Nakap Nalo and other senior officers at the Civil Secretariat.

The eILP launched is a great step to serve exclusively the tourists and smoothen their entry in the State. It will ease process of obtaining Inner Line Permit (ILP). There would be no waiting period for tourist eILP; application, approval process is simplified.

The ID card-based registrations with mobile OTP-based self verification and QR Code-based digitally issued ILP, which can be verified by Police personnel at check gates using specially designed mobile based application, will facilitate faster movement of tourists.

Vivek Express, country’s longest train, to operate twice a week: NFRThe services of the country’s longest train, Vivek Express, that connects Assam from Dibrugarh with the southernmost tip of Tamil Nadu, Kanyakumari, will be available twice a week beginning November 22, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) said.

Bearing the train no. 15906 (Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari) Vivek Express, which previously used to run on Saturdays, will now operate additionally every Tuesday from November 22, a press release issued by NFR said and the train no. 15905 (Kanyakumari to Dibrugarh) Vivek Express, which currently runs only on Thursdays, will now be available even on Sundays from November 27, the release mentioned.

Elephant corridors mapping not proper in Odisha

Amid reports of rampant elephant deaths due to man-elephant conflicts in Odisha, the Orissa has been informed that mapping of elephant corridors in the State has not been done properly. Noted wildlife expert Dr Raman Sukumar, who specialises in elephant movement, informed the court that elephant corridors have not been identified scientifically in Odisha.

Madurai district gets TNs first biodiversity heritage site

The Nadugovernment has notifiedArittapattiandMeenakshipuramvillages inMaduraidistrict as abiodiversity heritage site. The first such site in the state is Home to several endemic species and historical structures more than 2,000 years old.

A total of 193.2 hectares in Meenakshipuram in Madurai taluk and Arittapatti in Melur taluk have been notified as the Biodiversity heritage sites.

As per the government order issued by additional chief secretary of Environment, forest and Climate-change”>Climate Change Supriya Sahu, some hillocks in the area have rich biological and historical significance with the presence of around 250 bird species, including three raptor species, laggar falcons and other wildlife including endangered slender loris.

The area consists of a chain of seven barren granite hillocks as a watershed and supports 72 lakes, 200 natural spring pools and three check Dams.

The megalithic structures found in the area have Tamil Brahmi inscriptions, Jain beds and rock-cut temples which are 2,200 years old.

Naidu said at the Bengaluru Tech Summit. He added that early results in moving industries to other cities of Karnataka are showing good results. He also said KDEM is interested in developing industry clusters and not just cities.

Telangana to distribute 33 lakh sanitary napkins in schools, colleges

Thegovernment of Telanganawill distribute 33 lakh adolescent Health kits to girl students studying ingovernment schoolsand junior colleges over the next 18 months.

According to a Government Order (GO), the kits will be distributed among girl students studying in 8th class to Intermediate (second year) in government schools and colleges under adolescent health programme.

An amount of about Rs 70 crore will be spent on the programme to be undertaken for six months during the ongoing academic year 2022-23 and for 12 months of 2023-24.

AP sets up special cell to tackle climate change

In a move to address the issues related to environmental change, the has decided to create aClimate Change Cellin the Environment, Forest,Science and Technology(EFST) Department. The cell will study Climate-change”>Climate Change issues through Ecosystem based Approach (EbA) on par with Indias National Action Plan On Climate Change and paving the way to effectively tackle the global challenge of climate change.

The cell will liaise with external funding agencies of the Union Government to identify projects and schemes for implementation of the Climate Change State Action Plan.

The Climate Change Cell in the EFS&T Department will develop mechanism forInter-Departmentalcoordination so as to have periodic interactions with stakeholder line departments such as Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture, Health, Industry, energy, housing and urban development, animal Resources development, commerce and transport, and others.

The cell will also interact and coordinate with other state governments, different regulatory authorities, R&D institutions, NGOs including interaction with the international institutions for exchange of information on climate change issues and bring best practices to the state.

New dump policy soon to restart mining: Subhash Phhal Dessai

Social welfare ministerSubhash Phal Dessaisaid that the state would come up with a new dump handling policy to start legal mining. Phal Dessai said that even if 20 million tonnes of iron Ore are exported,miningactivities can run for two years.

Phal Dessai said that the may abolish or give relaxation to truck owners regarding some taxes.

He also said that the state has enforced a green tax for those trucks that have completed 15 years. He also said that truck owners have to pay Rs 18,000 as green tax.

He also said that people in the mining belt will get business once mining restarts.

Haryanas exports records a four-fold rise in last 8 yrs

Haryana Government on Thursday said that ever sinceState Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has been sworn in as the Chief Minister in 2014, several schemes have been implemented to promote industrial exports. Consequently, not only Haryana got a new identity but the State has taken a quantum leap in its export graph. As per the official figures in 2013-14, Haryana exported goods worth Rs 68,032 crore, while increasing this by four-fold to touch exporting goods worth Rs. 2,17,222 crore.

The government official spokesperson said that because of the radical changes brought about by the Chief Minister to promote the (EODB), Haryana is now third in the country and first in North India in terms of EODB, whereas in the year 2014 it was at 14th position. Obviously because Economic Development has also remained the utmost priority of the Chief Minister and during his consecutive tenure, he had always laid emphasis onboosting Industrial Growth in Haryana so as to provide livelihoodto the people of the State along with making Haryana a preferred global Investment destination.

Guided by the principle of ‘Minimum Government and Maximum Governance, the State Government has created an ecosystem of Ease of Doing Business (EODB) which not only matches global standards but is even more investment-friendly and has also given a powerful administrative structure in the Industrial Sector of the state, he added.

He further said that to propel the State to the next level of growth trajectory, the Enterprise Promotion Policy (EPP) in the year 2015 was launched. The policy is aligned with the ‘ Make in IndiaDigital India‘ and ‘Skilling India’ campaigns of the Government of India and offers best-in-class incentives to attract investments in the state.

Furthermore, going a step ahead to create a more conducive Environment for the industries in the state, for the first time Haryana has formulated The Haryana Enterprises and EMPLOYMENT Policy (HEEP), 2020, after considering suggestions from the industrialists of the state.

Notably, the government took another lead in introducing one of its kind initiatives when it launched the Programme to Accelerate Development for MSME Advancement (PADMA) programme to strengthen the economic condition of every region.

Under PADMA ‘clusters’ of small and medium industries are being established at the block level. Clusters have been formed in all 143 blocks of the state, even in the first phase the work of developing 40 clusters has started. Brands namely Har Amrit’ for fertilizer, ‘Har Agro’ for cattle feed, ‘Haryana Fresh’ for mineral water, ‘Ikshu’ for sugar are being promoted to give special recognition to the products of the state.

Five special policies have been implemented for Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture and Food Processing, textiles, WarehousingLogistics, retail, pharmaceutical and MSME sectors. For settlement of government dues and other disputes, help has been provided to industrialists through Vivaadon ka Samadhan.

Punjab breathes ‘poor’ air, Haryana ‘very poor’

TheAQIinPunjabhas witnessed a bit of improvement but is still under poor category on the index. The Average AQI recorded on Thursday in Punjab is 220 whereas on Wednesday the state recorded 344 AQI, the maximum this season so far. The state pollution board officials blamed the changing and erratic weather conditions, calm wind flow and lack of dispersion of smoke as major reasons behind Wednesday’s rise in AQI.

Meanwhile inHaryana, the air quality was in the poor category in Fatehabad (299),Yamunanagar(296), Jind (293),Faridabad(292), Hisar (252), Dharuhera (243), Gurgaon (237), Manesar (236), Rohtak (223), Bahadurgarh (221), Panchkula (210), and Bhiwani (209).
