Assam sets dress code for teachers of all educational institutions

Assam government has introduced dress code for teachers of all educational institutions to maintain a decent academic in the campus. According to the new guidelines, some restrictions on dresses have been imposed for the teachers and they are recommended to wear the dresses as proposed while in schools.

The recommendation issued by the Education Department stated that casual attires like jeans, t-shirts, leggings cannot be worn while on duty. Disciplinary action as per rule will be taken against teachers who violate these instructions.

With Maoist activities again rearing its head in two neighbouring westernOdishadistricts of Kalahandi andNuapada, their wildlife sanctuaries Karlapat and Sunabeda respectively have again turned into the preferred hideouts of the Naxals, Police said.

While Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary helps them shuttle between Chhattisgarh and Nuapada, Karlapat serves as their passage between Kalahandi and Kandhamal because of the contiguity of forests. Karlapat links with the forests of Kandhamal. Maoists operating in Kandhamal use Karlapat as their shelter as they put up camps in the forest, said additional director general of police (operations) Amitav Thakur.

TNAU gets design patent for airflow test rig

TheTamil Nadu Agricultural University(TNAU) has received a design patent for UAVdownwashAirflow test Rig from the office of the controller general of patents, designs and trademarks.

According to TNAU, use of drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) for crop spraying against diseases, pests, and has increasingly become important in recent years. To measure the downwash airflow pattern generated by rotor propellers of UAV, a downwash airflowtestrig was designed and developed.

The rig is useful for investigating the parameters and distribution laws of downwash airflow velocity of UAV sprayers in outdoor conditions.

Kochi Water Metro will accelerate city’s development, says Kerala CM ahead of launch

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan termed the Kochi Water Metro, set to be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi next week, as a “dream project” of the state that would accelerate the Growth and development of Kochi.

Sources in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said PM Modi would launch the Kochi Water Metro service in a function here on April 25.

With the launching of the flagship project set up at a cost of Rs 1,136.83 crore in the port city, one more assurance given to the people of the state by the LDF government is being fulfilled, Vijayan said in a Facebook post.

The cost-effective and secure journey in air-conditioned boats would help people to reach their respective destinations without being stuck in traffic snarls, he said. Passengers can travel in both Kochi metro and water metro using the “Kochi 1” card. They can also book the tickets digitally.

The Andhra Pradesh government would present a report on the changes it has introduced in the healthcare and Nutrition sectors, along with reports on several other important schemes that are being implemented in the state at the governing council meet in New Delhi.

Accordingly, the state will present reports on the family doctor concept, Aarogyasri, the Nadu-Nadu programme in hospitals, healthcare to mothers and children and appointment of more doctors and other healthcare personnel in the government hospitals, the 104 ambulance Services, PHCs and Village Health Clinics.

Special care was being taken in family doctor concept for patients suffering with hypertension and diabetes. The existing TEACHING hospitals and the upcoming ones are/would be having labs and cath labs to handle cancer. Such matters would be highlighted in the reports.

The CM stressed the need to expedite implementation of programmes in the Skill development sector by taking an Assembly segment as a hub and setting up a skill centre in each district headquarter to help the graduates acquire new skills.

He made a mention of the AP skill development scam involving Rs 371 crore at the time of the previous TD term and underlined the importance to ensure accountability in the use of funds.

The State Government would also present at the Niti Aayog meet the kind of support it has extended to MSMEs and the progress the state achieved in the development of Infrastructure and investments.

From AI monitoring to a paw squad, Dhristi to step up beach surveillance in Goa

Cordoning off risk-prone areas along beaches, deployment of (AI) systems to monitor risk-prone zones, increasing awareness about safe swimming practices are some of the measures that are being rolled out to enhance beach safety. A paw squad, trained dogs will also assist in lifesaving measures.

The state-appointed lifeguarding agency will start with closure of risk-prone stretches and Swim with Lifesavers initiative in phase I. It is also readying a paw squad, to aid lifesavers in rescue and beach safety operations.

Swim with Lifesavers was launched in 2021 to create awareness about safe swimming and offer tips. The idea, he said, was to also encourage enthusiasts to respect the sea. A 60-minute programme offers a guided swim session which is open to all. Over 45% at poor mental health risk in corporate world

Over 48% of corporate employees are at a “risk” of poor mental Health, with more female employees (56%) at a higher risk than their male counterparts (41%), according to a psychological survey released.

The survey, which was conducted by MPower, an initiative of the Aditya Birla Education Trust, covered 3,000 employees across eight sectors in eight cities, including Mumbai.

Around 50% of those surveyed said that Stress at the workplace adversely affected their productivity, while 45% said they felt “isolated” due to the ‘work from Home‘ phase during the Covid pandemic. Many of the people in Mumbai who said they were stressed at the workplace also had severe backaches.

CM Manohar Lal Khattar launches ‘Haryana Uday’

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who was in Gurugram to lead the Raahgiri event, launched Road Safety Week starting today. Khattar also announced various initiatives, including removal of accident-prone black spots to create cycle and pedestrian tracks.

The CM launched Haryana Uday, a community policing and outreach programme. Set to be implemented in the state from June 1, the programme aims at strengthening community ties and promoting better relations among the District Administration, law enforcement agencies and the public.
