Covid: Manipur app to monitor home isolation patients

Manipur launched a mobile app for real-time monitoring of Covid-19 patients in Home isolation.

The objective of the Manipur Home Isolation Management (MHIM) mobile application was to avail real-time Health data of patients in home isolation for prompt response.

The MHIM app, launched by chief minister N. Biren Singh at the CM Secretariat in Imphal, will help patients upload their health status including pulse rate, SPo2, body temperature and blood pressure among others using fixed parameters at fixed intervals as set by the health department from time to time.

MoU signed to conserve black softshell turtle

A majortempleinAssamhas signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with two green NGOs, the Assam State Zoo cum and the Kamrup District Administration for long-term conservation of the rare freshwater black softshellturtle(Nilssonia nigricans).
The signing ceremony held at Kamrup deputy commissioner office also marked the launch of a vision document 2030 by setting in motion a plan to have a ecologically viable Population of 1000 adults of blacksoftshell turtlein Assam by 2030.

It was launched after Turtle Survival Alliance India and Help Earth signed the pact involving the Hayagriva Madhava Temple Committee. The ponds in the temple, revered by both Hindus and Buddhists, is at Hajo, about 30 km northwest of Guwahati, harbour various threatened species of turtles.

The species was thought to be extinct in the wild, only being confined to some religious sites in Northeastern India and Bangladesh. However, based on the preliminary information, its IUCN status has been downlisted to Critically Endangered in 2021 but does not enjoy legal protection under the Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.

Odisha: Kids to be part of sero survey soon

For the first time children will be part of the nation-wide serological survey to be conducted this month by the Indian Council of Medical Research (Icmr). Three districts inOdisha(Ganjam, Rayagada andKoraput) will be part of this nationwide survey.

The RMRC with the support of the has already conducted state-level sero surveys last year. It had started this survey atPuriin June last year. Later it conducted the survey at Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Baramba-Narasinghpur, Rourkela, Paralakhemundi,MalkangiriandCuttack.

Tamil Nadu announces Rs 61.09crore special kuruvai package for farmers

Naduchief ministerM K Stalin announced a special Rs 61.09 crore kuruvai package forfarmersin the delta districts. The move will help get additional coverage than the targeted 3.5 lakh acres this season.

The scheme will be implemented in Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai and Tiruvarur districts and partially in Cuddalore, Ariyalur and Trichy districts. It will benefit 2.07 lakh farmers in the region.

The government has allocated Rs 50 crore towards distribution of inputs, besides Rs 11.09 crore to provide subsidised machinery to the farmers and create farm ponds for effective use of water.

The State Government had held discussions with the farmers on desilting work and water release from Mettur reservoir. Desilting is being done in 647 places (for 44,061.44km) at Rs 65.11 crore.

Keralas test positivity rate drops under 10%

The state recently reported 7,499 fresh cases and 94 deaths taking the toll from Covid-19 to 12,155.

The number of active cases dropped to 99,693 after 13,596 recoveries were made on the day. There was also a dip inTest Positivity Rate(TPR), to 9.63% after 77,853 samples were tested in 24 hours. TPR in178 local bodies was found to be under 8% while in 633 places it was between 8 and 20. In 208 areas, TPR was in the 20-30% range and it was above 30% in 16 local bodies.

The Ministry of Agriculture, GOI, and Mashav (Israels International Development Cooperation Agency) are leading Israels largest G2G cooperation, with 29 operational centers of excellence (COE) in 12 Indian states.

They are implementing Advanced-Intensive Agriculture farms using Israeli Agro-Technology tailored to local conditions.

The Centers of Excellence generate knowledge, demonstrate best practises, and train farmers.

MahaMetros Neo plan to save Rs 2,000 crore for Warangal

After planning countrys first MetroNeo project forNashik, the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd, known as MahaMetro, has added yet another feather in its cap by providing design based on the innovative concept to Warangal city inTelangana.

As per the DPR, length of Warangal MetroNeo will be 15km and it will be built at a cost of about Rs1,000 crore. The cost per km of this project is Rs60 crore, against Rs180 crore per km of traditional heavy Metros.

Currently, Population of Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet cities is 20 lakh. It is expected to increase to 36 lakh in 2041. The peak hour per direction traffic (PHPDT) in 2041 is expected to be 8,000.

Committees formed to monitor land resurvey in Andhra Pradesh

The government has constituted state and district-level committees to monitor the landresurveyproject being carried out across the state. A pilot project was conducted in Jaggaiahpet assembly constituency area after which the programme was extended to the rest of the state. Once the survey is completed, permanent ownership pattas would be issued to owners for the first time in the state after more than 100 years.

At the district level, the collector would be the chairman while the assistant director of survey and land records will be the member convener. The government has appointed joint collectors, municipal commissioners, deputy collectors, revenue divisional officers and district panchayat officers as members.

Maharashtra: Low-cost sensors could track air pollution hotspots, says study

Expect better air quality as the plans to set up more accurate, low-cost monitoring sensors to identifyair pollution hotspotsin the Mumbai region.

Twenty of the 40 low-cost sensors developed by four start-ups have shown an accuracy of 85-90% vis–vis regulatory grade monitors during a seven-month pilot project byMaharashtra Pollution Control Board(MPCB) in PARTNERSHIP withIIT-Kanpurand Bloomberg Philanthropies.

The study findings were presented at a webinar on Friday with participants from the ministry of Environment, forest and Climate-change”>Climate Change, ministry of housing and urban affairs, central and state pollution control boards, technical experts, media, and civil Society to discuss the way forward under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP).
