Budget 2023 will be growth-oriented in Haryana, says CM

With a blueprint of taking Haryana swiftly on the progressive and transformational path, along with uplifting the last mile citizen, Budget 2023-24 will be Growth oriented, said Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

The Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha will commence from February 20 and Khattar, who also holds the finance portfolio, will present the Budget on February 23.

The Chief Minister said that as the year 2023 is being celebrated as Antyodaya Arogya Varsh, hence in the budget 2023-24, utmost priority will be given to uplifting those at the bottom of the socio-economic pyramid. Poor and needy have the first right on government. Radical IT reforms have been brought to ensure that they are the first to get the benefits of all public welfare schemes, said Khattar. He said that no scheme would be discontinued due to a paucity of funds.

Min seeks spl status for Raj under Jal Jeeven scheme

Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) ministerMahesh Joshihas demanded that the central government should give special status toRajasthanunder theJal Jeevan Missionscheme considering the unfavourable condition in the state.

The condition of ground water in Rajasthan can be analysed from the fact that only 38 blocks in the state are safe. While 219 blocks are in the category of over-exploited, 22 are in critical, 20 in semi-critical and 3 other blocks are in saline category. Rajasthan is actually the most suitable state for organizing such workshops on groundwater management

HP to restore degraded forests, identify land banks

New initiatives for restoring degraded landscapes will be taken up underHimachal Pradesh State Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority(HP Campa) in the entire state in this fiscal, chief ministerSukhvinder Singh Sukhusaid on Monday late evening. Instead of raising plantations in a sporadic manner, it should be done in a planned manner on barren hills and other large open patches, keeping in mind climatic conditions and dedicated staff would be deployed to take care of plantations in a responsible and accountable manner, he said while presiding over the first meeting of the governing body of HP Campa).

Agra metro gets Rs 465 crore, to be operational next year

In a major boost for mass rapid transit system, the allocated Rs 465 crore forAgra metrorail project in the annual budget 2023-24 presented in the state assembly.

The budget allocation made by the state government is in the larger public interest. It will help in the completion of the project work in a time-bound manner.”
On December 7, 2020, prime minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of the Agra metro rail project. The estimated cost of the project will be Rs 8,379.62 crore.

The Agra Metro project will comprise two corridors with a total length of 29.4 km and will connect major tourist attractions including Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Sikandra with RAILWAY stations and bus stands in the city.

JSPCB Survey: Pollution level on the rise in River Subarnarekha

The findings of a recent survey by the Adityapur-based regional office of Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB) has revealed that Subarnarekha, the lifeline river of the state, is getting polluted in areas in and around Jamshedpur. The board has expressed concern over rising industrial effluents being dumped.The findings suggested a rise in pH value, dissolved Oxygen content and lead content.

Subarnarekha is one of the principal rivers of Jamshedpur. Subarnarekha is the smallest of the inter-state river basins of India. The river covers a drainage area of 1.93 million hectares. Raru, Kharkai, Sankh, Garra, Kanchi and Karkari are some of the tributaries of Subarnarekha which drain the region of Jamshedpur.

Subarnarekha is a rain-fed river that originates about 15 kilometers from the southern part of Ranchi. Before entering the Bay of Bengal, Subarnarekha flows through the states of Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha. The total length of Subarnarekha is estimated to be about 450 kilometers.

IMD-IIT-Patna sign MoU

The IMD and IIT-Patna signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Saturday for research in areas related to weather and extreme event monitoring, forecasting, development of various meteorological sensors and devices for meteorological applications and technology commercialization through local startup companies and entrepreneurs.

Mohapatra encouraged local entrepreneurs and startups to enter into the commercial production of meteorological and environmental monitoring sensors, which has a large market not just in India but all over Southeast Asia.

Nyay’ schemes carving Nava Cgarh: Governor

Governor Anusuiya Uikey, addressing the main Republic Day function in Raipur, said the Nyay schemes introduced by the Chhattisgarh government have helped to carve a ‘Nava Chhattisgarh’.

She said the success of the people is the Republic’s strength. The Republic Day underlines the need to run the country in accordance with the Constitution and to empower the public with legal powers and rights, she said.

A new era of prosperity and happiness has started in Chhattisgarh with the help of the flagship schemes of the government, she said.

Naxalite activities have also been reduced and leftwing extremists have begun to return to the mainstream, the Governor said.

Uikey lauded the Chhattisgarh government for taking significant initiatives on issues of Jal-Jungle-Zameen and EMPLOYMENT.

She said the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana was launched in Chhattisgarh to financially empower farmers who grow crops other than paddy and Rs 16,442 crore has been disbursed in the last three years.

The Governor stated that the ‘Godhan Nyay Yojana’ had proved to be a one-of-a-kind initiative that is now being adapted at the national level.

She said that the dream of Universal PDS has been realized. At present, the number of beneficiaries has increased to 2.61 crore.

The Union Government‘s ‘One Nation One Ration Card Scheme’ is being implemented so that families can draw ration from anywhere in the country.

She said that in the last four years, 1,856 new industrial units were established in the state in which capital of about Rs 20,000 crore was made and more than 34,000 people got employment.

20% plots to be reserved for SC/ST category to set-up industry

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that a huge and grand temple of Sant Ravidas would be built at Badtuma near Sagar at a cost of Rs. 100 crore. Couplets and teachings of Sant Ravidas will be engraved on the walls of the temple. The Personality and work of Sant Ravidas will also be displayed in the temple premises.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the sisters and daughters are highly respected in the state. No distinction is made between men and Women. After Ladli Laxmi Yojana for daughters, now Ladli Bahna Yojana has been launched for sisters, in which one thousand rupees will be given to poor and middle class sisters. Food, Education, medicine, house, EMPLOYMENT are being ensured for everyone in the state. There is no caste distinction in the state, no one is big or small, everyone is equal, everyone has equal opportunity and everyone is respected equally.

Chouhan performed Bhumi Pujan of Shahgarh-Banda group water supply scheme costing Rs. 251 crore 25 lakh. He launched the Kalash Yatra by presenting Kalash to the sarpanchs. Chief Minister Chouhan also inaugurated and had a look at the exhibition focused on Sant Ravidas and “One District-One Product” at the venue.

The Chief Minister said that to ensure housing for all in the rural and urban areas of the state, residential leases are being given to the poor. Under the Mukhya Mantri Awasiya Bhu-Adhikar Yojana, 10,800 pattas have been given in Tikamgarh district and 12 thousand in Sagar district. Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the poor have the facility of treatment up to Rs 5 lakh in a year in private hospitals

Gujarat among top 5 states in Covid booster doses

In absolute terms, out of 5.4 crore persons who are fully vaccinated forCovidinGujarat, only 1.96 crore have taken the third or booster dose, giving the Percentage of 36% for the covered Population. However, with national Average only at 24%, the state stands among top five, indicated a data tabled in theLok Sabharecently.

According to the data, had the highest coverage at 43%, followed by 40% in Odisha, 39% inAndhra Pradesh, 37% each in Chhattisgarh andHimachal Pradesh. Gujarat ranked fifth with 36%.
