Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala launched a scheme under which FMCG products will be provided at reasonable prices through ration depot-holders.

This pilot project has been launched at Sirsa, Fatehabad, Karnal, Yamunanagar and Panchkula districts. If the trial of this pilot project becomes successful in these districts, it will be implemented across the state.

The main objective of the is to create an ecosystem within Haryana through CONFED, in which multinational FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) companies, self-help groups and other groups work amicably.

Punjab Government will ensure that the states Divyangjans (Person with Disabilities) population gets its four prevent reservation quota in the government jobs. In 2,000 posts, out of 50,000 vacancies announced by the Punjab Government to be filled in various departments this year, PwDs would be appointed.

She categorically asked the authorities to send cases of those children and the families, who have lost their breadwinners to the COVID-19 for timely providing them financial assistance and benefits of various government schemes. Besides, she also directed the departments to expedite the digitization process of various cards for the disabled such as Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Card and Job Card.

Himachal Cabinet gives nod to fill 2,322 posts to bolster water schemes

The Cabinet gave nod to the Jal Shakti Department to fill 2,322 posts of different categories under Departmental Para Workers Policy to effectively manage 486 drinking water and 31 Irrigation schemes in the State.

The Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur here today, also decided to create and fill 401 posts of different categories in trauma/tertiary care centre in Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) and Super Specialty Bloc, Chamiana of IGMC Shimla for its smooth functioning and to provide specialized Health care facilities to the people of the state. Besides, 328 posts of different categories on outsource basis would also be filed.

The Cabinet gave its nod to revised scheme for interest subvention on WORKING CAPITAL loan for hospitality with a view to ensure that tourism unit operators could get easier access to working capital at interest rates lower than the prevailing market rates.

The revised scheme provides for interest subversion of 75 per cent in the first year and payment period has also been increased to five years. Some other categories like ropeway and travel agents have also been included in the new scheme.

The Cabinet decided to include the families under National Food Security Act (Priority Households Category) where death occurred due to Covid pandemic. The guidelines for identification of Priority Households under National Food Security Act, 2013 issued on August 1, 2013 would be relaxed to give them immediate relief and such families would immediately be included by Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies under National Food Security Act (PHH category) by simply getting Covid death certificates of such persons who died due to coronavirus.

Uttarakhand education department plans tablets for students

Uttarakhand Education departmentis mulling over distributing tablets to students of classes 11 and 12 so they can attend online classes.

A proposal is being prepared and it will be forwarded to the chief ministers office for the final nod, officials said.

It is estimated that around 1.36 lakh students will receive the tablets.

In regions with poor Internet connectivity, offline study material which will already have been uploaded on the device, will ensure the students studies are not hampered.

Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited signed an MoU worth Rs 3 crores with Chatra District Administration on Saturday. Under the MoU, CCL will provide Rs 3 Crore to Chatra District Administration to upgrade 100 Aanganwadi centres in the district.

The amount will also be utilised for establishing 54 digital classrooms in 30 schools and an Oxygen plant in community Health centre, Tandwa.

An amount of Rs 1.5 crores will be spent on upgrading the 100 Aanganwadi centres of the district. An expenditure of Rs 1.5 lakh will be incurred on every centre towards repair of building, wall paintings and providing Sports and other essential items to the children. A total of 54 digital classrooms will be established in 30 schools of Chatra at an expenditure of Rs 1.03 Crore. An oxygen plant in the community health centre, Tandwa will also be established at a cost of Rs 60 lakh.

Bihars first transgender shelter home set up in Patna

The states first-of-its-kind transgender shelter Home-cum-skill training centre has started functioning at Khagaul in westernPatnawith five inmates. Set up under the Garima Greh scheme of theMinistry of Social Justiceand Empowerment, the objective of setting up such a shelter home is to integrate transgender people into the mainstream.

The three-storey building would provide infrastructural support to 25 transgender persons at a time and make them self-sufficient by empowering with skill training programmes which may open a range of professions they can choose for their livelihoods. A separate skill training block has been built to provide soft skills.

Chhattisgarh to sponsor private school education of kids who have lost parents to Covid

Chhattisgarhgovernment, on Monday, announced that it would sponsoreducationof those children who are studying in private schools and lost their parents to Covid. The entitled children will be provided with free Education preferably at the state’s first government’s English medium school and those already studying in private schools.

The had earlier announced that it would provide education and monthly Scholarship to the children studying in government schools who lost parents and caretakers due to Covid.

Under Mahtari Dular scheme, students will be given a scholarship of Rs 500 per month from class 1 to 8 and Rs 1,000 per month from class 9 to 12. Regarding the implementation of Mahtari Dular Yojna, the official said that school education department would work in coordination with the Health department and social welfare department to provide benefits of this scheme to such children. Chhattisgarh Mahtari Dular Yojana 2021 is applicable from academic session 2021-22.

The benefit of the scheme will be given to destitute children belonging to the domicile families of state. Children who have lost the earning parent (mother, father or both) due to Covid are eligible to avail this scheme.

Madhya Pradesh adds 220 new colleges last year

In a span of one year, as many as 220 colleges increased in Madhya Pradesh and overall enrollment of students also increased by 1,10,455.

As per the recent report of All India Survey of Higher Education (AISHE) for academic year 2019-20, there are as many as 2411 higher educational institutions (HEIs) in Madhya Pradesh. In the previous session, the AISHE report states 2191 colleges.

The recent report states a total of 1501236 enrollment whereas 1390781 candidates were enrolled in previous session.

In academic session 2018-19, an Average of 734 enrolment per college and 24 colleges per lakh students which changed to an average of 771 enrolment per college in session 2019-20 and 27 colleges per lakh students.

As many as 89 per cent Universities of Madhya Pradesh responded to the AISHE in the academic session 2019-20 which is three per cent more than previous session which was 86 per cent response.

Only 26% of Gujarat University law students give nod for online exam

Of the 7,600law studentswho were to choose between and online and pen-and-paper (offline)examsatGujarat University, only about 26% or 2,000 students have chosen the online format.

The university had earlier this month given the students of 2, 4 and 6 semester undergraduatelawcourses and students pursuing integrated law programmes the option to register for online exams till June 19. Those who did not choose the online option will by default be considered for theoffline exams. The university has now decided to extend the deadline till June 22 given that there are more than 5,000 students who havent chosen theonline examformat. The deadline extension is a chance to them for a rethink on the matter, said sources in GU.

Gujarat University had earlier this month called off exams forLLBstudents as well as those pursuing integrated courses in law.
