Haryana launches online portal for empanelment of private hospitals

To provide transparent and better and quick Health Services to the people, Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday launched a portal and Software for the empanelment of private hospitals. Vij also launched the Randomization and Real Time Inspection Software (Drug Wing) of the Food and Drug Administration Department for inspection of drug licensee’s institutions. Haryana is the first state in the country to launch this software.

He said that the Government is committed to providing the best healthcare facilities to its employees, pensioners and their dependents, especially tertiary and super-specialty healthcare facilities. The same is facilitated through empanelment of private hospitals in addition to government health institutions. To ensure highest quality standards, only JCI/ NABH accredited hospitals are taken on the panel, since 2017. There is no fee for empanelment.

Punjab urges Centre to ease wheat purchase regulations

Procurement operations could begin in earnest as the Centre is expected to announce relaxation in specifications for lustre-loss and shrivelled grains in wheat to be procured during the ongoing rabi Marketing season.

The Punjab Government has also demanded a special package from the Centre for farmers, who have suffered crop damage because of the vagaries of weather. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has written to the Centre, requesting it to increase its share of compensation given to the affected farmers under the disaster relief fund as the state has already increased its share by 25 per cent. The government has also demanded relaxation in specifications for wheat procurement.

Most of the 166 samples of wheat, collected by the central teams from 12 districts over the past three days, have been found to have either black grains or shrivelled grains beyond the specified 6 per cent. The damaged and broken grains, beyond the specified limit, have also been reported. The results of testing of these grains came out today, confirmed a senior officer in the Fci Punjab Region Office.

The government has demanded that grains with up to 6 per cent damage, 12 per cent slightly damaged and 15 per cent broken grains be procured by the Centre, besides grains that have a complete lustre loss.

CM Sukhu showed resolve to free Himachal of over Rs 75K cr debt

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had during the Budget session exhibited resolve to salvage the hill state, which has a debt of over Rs 75,400 crore, from a near bankruptcy situation. At the same time, the BJP tried to corner the government over delay in fulfilling the 10 guarantees that the Congress had given to people before the 2022 Assembly .

Sukhu, during the Budget session, reiterated that his government would tread cautiously and exercise fiscal prudence with thrust on resource mobilisation. He announced the setting up of a committee to prepare a White Paper on the states finances.

The Assembly passed eight Bills, including regarding Sukhashraya and water cess, and an amendment to the Tenancy on Land Ceiling Act 1972, giving right to girls to own land in their names on a par with boys.

Sukhu showcased his conviction to generate additional Rs 4,000 crore revenue by imposing water cess on hydroelectric projects amidst a protest by Punjab and Haryana. Besides, the Excise Department earned Rs 520 crore more through an open auction of liquor vends.

Experts discuss potential of hemp in Uttarakhand

An experts’ group discussed ‘technological advancements inhemp cultivationand procession for the fibre and allied industries’ at a national conference organised on Tuesday by Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Technical University.

The experts exchanged knowledge about hemp crops, its potential as a sustainable alternative to traditional crops for oilseeds, food source and various applications of hemp fibre in industries like textiles, constructions and automotive.

Notably, Uttarakhand is laying thrust on utilising hemp for industrial usage and is about to come up with a policy on hemp too.

Govt allocates Rs 150 cr for marriage of OBC girls

According topmost priority to Women welfare, the Yogi Adityanath government has been taking dedicated steps ensuring all-round Empowerment and uplift of women. In line with the vision, with Rs 150 crore, the government will solemnise the marriage of poor girls belonging to Other Backward Classes.

It may be mentioned here that the has been allocating funds and provides grants for the marriage of poor girls of Backward Classes. The grant is provided by the State Backward Classes Welfare department on applications submitted by any family belonging to the Backward Class seeking to avail of the grant amount. So far, the state government has provided grants of Rs 771 crore to 3,85,514 beneficiaries under the marriage grant scheme.

To benefit from the scheme, some terms and conditions have been set by the department. It is necessary to follow these conditions while applying. The most essential rule in this is regarding the estimation of the income of the poor. The annual income of the applicant should be Rs 56,460 in urban areas and Rs 46,080 in rural areas. In the application, the age of the groom should be 21 years and of the bride 18 years. Caste certificates must be attached. Under the scheme, the benefits of the marriage grant can be given to a maximum of two daughters from a family.

In addition, under the Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana, grants are provided by the Social Welfare department for the marriage of daughters belonging to financially weaker sections. The Social Welfare department organises mass marriages and spends Rs 51,000 on each marriage. Earlier this amount was Rs 35,000, which has been increased. So far, over 2.25 lakh girls have been married under this scheme.

New rules approved, commission to appoint teachers in Bihar schools

The state cabinet on Monday approved the new rules moved by the Education department for the recruitment of schoolteachers, besides creating a separate cadre to treat them on par with the government employees. The new schoolteachers will be appointed by a commission.

Around 1.5 lakh teachers will be appointed through the revised rules. Under the new rules, primary schools will impart TEACHING from class 1 to 5 while middle schools will have classes from 1 to 8.

CM gifts 89 schemes in tune of Rs 537.01 Cr to people in Godda

Chief Minister Hemant Soren, while addressing the Vikas Mela cum Janata Darbar organized at Tasaria, Sundarpahari, Godda on Monday said that the people should try to know and understand the schemes of the government and take advantage of them. The officials are also reaching the last person of the state. The government is also going and the schemes are also coming into reality. We have a clear vision that development should pick up pace in the remote and remote villages of the state as well, he said.

The CM gifted 89 schemes to the people of the area. This includes inauguration of 31 schemes worth Rs 18637.81 lakh and foundation stone laying of 58 schemes worth Rs 35065.64 lakh.

Cgarh predicts more rabi crops

Chhattisgarh has predicted more in the current season, with the sowing rate 5.77 percent more compared to the previous season.

The Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture Department said rabi crops have been sown in 19.36 lakh hectares, which is 101 percent against a target of 19.25 lakh hectares.

In the previous year, the cultivation was in 18.30 lakh hectares. This year it is 5.77 percent more than last year, an official Communication said.

Pulses have been sown in 8.65 lakh hectares, accounting for 45 percent of the area proposed rabi crop cultivation.

The sowing has been done in pulses, oilseeds, sugarcane, vegetables and other crops. It includes wheat, maize, ragi and other coarse grains.

Jiwaji University first in MP to get A++

In a first forMadhya Pradesh, GwaliorsJiwaji Universityhas bagged A++ accreditation of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Only 27 universities in the country have managed to secure NAAC A++ accreditation in its latest list.

As per the list issued by the NAAC, Naduhas the highest number of A++ NAAC accredited universities.

NAAC conducts assessment and accreditation of Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) such as colleges, universities or other recognised institutions to derive an understanding of the Quality Status of the institution.

Govt-run technical colleges see 50% drop in number of teachers in 6 years in Gujarat

The state socio-economic review (SER) for the year 2022-23 reveals that the strength of the TEACHING staff in these colleges has almost halved over the past six years, leaving the existing teachers overburdened and exposed to a tide of mental Health and social issues.

From 15,398 teachers in the government-run technical colleges in 2016-17, the number has dropped to 7,755 in 2022-23.

The data tabled in the SER reveals that in 2016-17, there were 238 institutes with the maximum staff strength of 15,398 – an Average of 64.7 teachers per institute. The number of institutes increased to 242 in 2019-20, but the number of teachers plummeted to 10,342.

By 2022-23, the number of institutes stood at 230, while the strength of the teaching staff dropped further to 7,755 – making it an average of 33.6 teachers per institute and a decline of 49.6 per cent in the total number of teachers.

Significantly, the number of Women teachers at these institutes dropped by 51% in six-years – from 4,915 to 2,415.

RIICO launches eight new industrial areas

RajasthanState Industrial Development and Corporation (RIICO) has launched eight new industrial areas in as many divisions of the state to facilitate local entrepreneurs to establish ventures using Resources in their areas.

While presenting the Budget for 2023-24, chief ministerAshok Gehlothad announced to open 50 industrial zones in the current year. In the past two financial years, the State Government has announced 96 industrial areas which are at various stages of development.

While the land plots would be allotted through auctions, preferential allotment is also on the cards.

In fact, RIICO has made a provision to allot plots in industrial areas to local entrepreneurs on preferential basis, although the number of plots would be limited.

While investors outside the state participate in the auctions keeping in view their projects, the local Industry, which is mostly in the MSME sector, finds it unviable to match the prices.
