Enrolment per school in Himachal 3rd lowest

The enrolment per school in Himachal Pradesh is the third lowest in the country.

As per the Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) report for 2021-22, the Average enrolment count is 80 in the state, way lower than the national average of 178. Only Ladakh (61) and Mizoram (79) have lower enrolment per school than the state.

The low enrolment reflects in the pupil-teacher ratio as well, which is among the lowest in the country at 14. Its exactly half the national average, which stands at 28. Only Ladakh (10), Mizoram (13) and (10) have the lower pupil-teacher ratio than the state.

New policy to promote sports, sportsmen: Dhami

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the has prepared the new Sports policy- 2022 to promote sports and sportsmen. He said that more and more youngsters of the State are taking active part in the competitive sports due to which Uttarakhand is getting a new recognition.

He said that the traditional games such as Kabaddi, Kho- Kho, football and Malkhambh are becoming popular again. The CM said that efforts are being made to ensure that the work of cultural enrichment is also done through the sports. He said that his government has started Mukhyamantri Udaiman Khiladi Unnayan scheme on sports day this year under which the scholarships are being given to the sportspersons. Under the scheme a Scholarship of Rs 1,500 per month is being given to 3,900 ( 150 boys and 150 girls in each district) young players in the age group eight years to 14 years.

Dhami said that efforts are being made to make Raipur sports college a sports university of international standards. He said that the daily allowance of the inmates of the sports hostel has been increased from Rs 175 to Rs 225 per day. The CM said that provision for a sum of Rs 10 crore has been made in the budget for setting up open gyms in the villages. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken many initiatives to promote the sports in the country and Khelo India programme is one such initiative. He said that sports talent is being identified, assisted and being trained and India is emerging as a sports superpower. Dhami said that every possible effort is being made to make Uttarakhand a leading State by the year 2025 as per the wish of PM Modi.

ODOP scheme has doubled UPs export since 2017: Yogi

Speaking at the India International Trade Fair in Delhi,Yogisaid the ODOP scheme had been launched on UP Diwas in 2018 in line with the PMs vision of Vocal for Local and Local for Global. He added that with assistance from the government, ODOP had boosted the states exports which had gone 100% up from Rs 86,000 crore in 2017-18 to Rs 1.56 lakh crore this year. Under the PMs inspiration, we started the branding of our locally made products in 2018. We have 75 districts and each of them have their own traditional unique products, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said.

CM vows to empower poor, backwards and tribals

Jharkhand on Tuesday completed 22 years of its inception. On this occasion, a State-level function was held at historic Morhabadi ground in Capital, where Chief Minister Hemant Soren launched various welfare schemes along with inaugurating several new projects. The chief guest of statehood function was JMM chief and party Rajya Sabha member Shibu Soren, who played a pivotal role in creation of separate State of Jharkhand around two decades back.

Chief Minister Soren addressing the gathering said that Jharkhand creates a different identity in the entire country due to its mineral wealth, but also as land of heroes. Today, is not only the foundation day of the state; it is also the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. Our forefathers fought for their rights and fought many battles.

BJP to Bihar govt: Enact law against religious conversion

StateBJPvice-presidentRajib Ranjanon Sunday said the Bihar government should enact a law to preventreligious conversionbefore it takes a gigantic form.

They made the oral observation while hearing a petition against forced religious conversion, he added.Ranjan said states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh have already enacted their laws against religious conversion, while some other states were contemplating to do it.

Demography of a few parts of the state is also changing, and the agenda ofPopular Front of Indiafor 2047 had mentioned religious conversion as part of its activity, he added.

Chhattisgarh to make its ration shops sustainable, profitable

Chhattisgarhhas initiated the process for transforming the fair price shops across the state into sustainable and profitable model shops instead of letting them run on a commission basis.

If everything goes right, the fair price shops will start selling FMCG, grocery goods, Banking, postal and mobile recharging Services from fiscal 2023-24.

As per a government of India directive, every district should have 75 model fair price shops providing services of banking, mobile recharging, postal banking and FMCG goods to make these shops sustainable.

As many as 13655 ration shops are being operated across the state under the and these shops only deal with rice,gramand salt. Once these shops are converted into model shops, they will be able to sell all kinds of grocery goods.

There are 72,58,241 ration card holders in the state and over 2.62 crore people are linked with these ration cards. In this way, a major chunk of consumers will be connected to the model ration shops.

MoU will be executed with 10 leading companies

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be the chief guest during the MoU with 10 prestigious government and non-government organisations of the country under the startup policy at the Brilliant Convention Centre in Indore.

MoUs are being signed with the aim of making startups and MSMEs commercially and technically capable and strong and to provide new Marketing opportunities. This is an important initiative in view of seeking the cooperation of organisations associated with or working for startups and MSMEs.

An MoU will also be executed with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), an organisation of the Government of India. It is an initiative of the Department for Promotion of and Internal Trade under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. ONDC is a network based on open protocol.

It provides a platform for local commerce in areas such as mobility, grocery, food order, delivery, hotel booking and travel. It aims to create new opportunities, curb digital monopolies, support Micro, Small and Medium enterprises and small traders and helps to bring them on the online platform.

MSMEs and startups of the state will get benefits and cooperation from the MoU with ONDC. This will help in organising workshops to train small scale industries, startups and market participants. The facility of including relevant market participants will be available on the ONDC network. The network will also have the facility to connect with other existing participants.

Fertiliser min may seek 2.5L crore subsidy for FY24

The fertiliser ministry may seek budgetary support of around Rs 2.5 lakh crore subsidy for 2023-24, considering the current trend of international prices. While the government had provisioned for only Rs 1.05 lakh crore fertiliser subsidy for 2022-23, the outgo has already surpassed Rs 2 lakh crore.

Though fertiliser ministry officials did not give the exact number, they said the government will provide adequate funds to ensure that farmers don’t face any additional burden due to fluctuation of prices in the international market.

According to the report on annual consumption of antibiotics published in the latest issue of the scientific publication, Journal of Antimicrobial Resistance, Telangana recorded the third highest consumption of antibiotics in the country between 2011 and 2019. While Delhi stood first, Punjab occupied the second position.

Delhi recorded the highest Median consumption rate (daily dose per 1,000 people) of 23.5 followed by Punjab 22.9 and Telangana 15.3. The lowest rates were reported in Madhya Pradesh 7.2, Bihar 8.1, Rajasthan 8.3, Jharkhand 8.5 and Odisha 8.9.

During the study period, the rates increased in six states including Telangana. Rates According to the study, states with high per-capita income like Telangana reported the highest median consumption rates.

However, the annual consumption rate at the all-India level decreased by 3.6% between 2011 and 2019. The share of access antibiotics (essential and widely available) decreased 13.1% and the access/watch (watch antibiotics are those given to treat select diseases) ratio declined from 0.59 to 0.49.

The team gathered data from a panel of 9,000 stockists (60% of total stockists across country), representing data from 5,000 pharmaceutical companies, 18,000 small distributors and sub-stockists, and 5lakh retailers.

Saudi Arabia commits $2.5 billion to Middle East green initiative

Saudi Arabia‘s Crown PrinceMohammed bin Salmansaid on Monday the kingdom would contribute $2.5 billion to a green initiative in theMiddle Eastover the next 10 years, and host its headquarters.

TheMiddle East Green Initiativewas launched by thecrown princelast year as part of efforts to reduce regional carbon emissions.

Saudi Arabia had said last year it aimed to contribute 15% of the $10.4 billion required for the fund’s clean energy projects.

It also plans to plant 50 billion trees across the Middle EAst and restore an area equivalent to 200 million hectares of degraded land. The initiative will help reduce global carbon levels by 2.5%.

Saudi Arabia plans to rely on renewables for 50% of its electricity generation by 2030, the prince said, removing 44 million tonnes of carbon emissions by 2035.
