Fertility of one lakh acres of land to be improved in Haryana

Haryana Resources“>Water Resources Authority chairperson Keshni Anand Arora said on Wednesday that the fertility of one lakh acres of land will be improved in the state within the coming year, for which the first phase of land survey has been completed in 4 districts. Along with this, directions have been given to start the second phase survey in 5 districts of Nuh, Bhiwani, Hisar, Fatehabad, Sirsa.

Presiding over the meeting of Haryana Water Resources Authority, Arora said that this authority is working on a comprehensive plan on the problem of falling water level and waterlogging in various districts of the state.

For the convenience of the farmers and to get rid of the problems related to the ground water level in the state, a centralized water monitoring system is being prepared by the government. He said that through this scheme, the farmers of the state would get the benefit of diversification in their crops, due to which it would be possible to produce more than one crop in a year. This process will not only increase the income of the farmers but will also improve the fertility.

Punjab to move Anti-Red Tape Act soon

To eliminate red-tapism and improve in the state, the Punjab Government will soon bring the Punjab Anti-Red Tape Act, 2021. The Act aims to reduce the compliance burden of business and citizen Services by minimum 50 per cent.

The Anti-Red Tape Act, which is likely to be introduced soon, will probably be the first in the country and aims to stop all kind of unnecessary harassment faced by the Industry.

The Act would be instrumental in providing various measures for SIMPLIFICATION of government processes.

Natural farming gives Himachal apple growers edge

According to State Project Implementing Unit, total of 1,33,056 farmers are practicing natural farming in the state, either partially or fully, including 12,000 apple orchardists.

Apple grower Shakuntala Sharma in upper Shimla in Himachal Pradesh has reasons to smile. The apples she produced under natural conditions without the use of chemicals and fertilisers have fetched a record price of over Rs 100 per kg.

Shakuntalas orchard is located in Theog area, some 40 km from here. She is growing apples by adopting the Subhash Palekar Natural Farming (SPNF), a technique to do cultivation through non-chemical use, and this concept is gaining ground in the hill state where producers are particularly vulnerable to impacts of the Climate crisis, such as extreme heat, deficit and pest attacks.

According to the State Project Implementing Unit, a total of 1,33,056 farmers are practicing natural farming in the state, either partially or fully, involving 7,609 hectare. This includes 12,000 apple orchardists.

A new software will be launched within one week for the registration of Bharat (BH) series vehicles in Uttarakhand. Last month, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) introduced a new form of number plates called BH series for those who have to relocate frequently due to their jobs. As per the rules, those who have to transfer to another state have to change the registration number of their vehicle at the new place in their respective transport offices.

However with the BH series number plates, the vehicle owner will not have to register its vehicle in the new states again and again on his or her transfer. For now, MoRTH has provided this facility to the central and employees, bank employees, DEFENCE personnel and the employees of those private sector companies which have offices in more than three states. According to the official sources, the transport offices of Uttarakhand have also received some applications but this service has not started yet here. The deputy transport commissioner Sanat Kumar Singh said that the central government has launched this new form of number plates last month and trial of the new Software is under process as most of the work will be done online in this system.

The home-grown revolver of Webley and Scott, the renowned British firearms company, has hit the Indian market with its first delivery being made in Lucknow.

The British firm had entered into an understanding with Lucknow-based Sial Manufacturers to manufacture firearms and it is being manufactured in Hardoi. This unit is the first of Webley and Scott in the country. Revolvers, pistols, airguns will be made in this unit. As there is demand for revolvers, the unit will be manufacturing it initially. Its cost would be around Rs 1.55 lakh.

As per the agreement, the company will not sell the revolvers directly but through gun houses.

Webley is famous for the revolvers and automatic pistols it supplied to the British Empire’s military, particularly the British Army, from 1887 through both World War I and World War II. In 2010, Webley and Scott restarted the production of shotguns for commercial sale.

An ambitious target of making 100 crore diyas from cow dung has been set for this festive season as part of the Kamdhenu Deepawali campaign, supported by the Union government.

Last year, the now-defunct Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog had embarked on an ambitious exercise of empowering cow entrepreneurs and 40 crore diyas were made and sold against the target of 11 crore. With more cow entrepreneurs joining in, the target of making 100 crore diyas from cow dung has been conceived for the forthcoming festive season.

Ajit Prasad Mahapatra, who has been promoting cow-based across the country, suggested opening of gaushalas in jails where products are made using panchgavya.
