Manipur govt signs agreement with KIIT

TheManipurgovernments department of information technology has signed an agreement with KIIT-Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI), KIIT deemed to be University to establish Manipur Technology Innovation Hub (MTI-Hub).

The MTI-Hub, which will be set up with KIIT-TBI under PPP model, will promote in Manipur. Amit Shah, Union minister of Home and cooperation, laid the foundation stone of MTI-Hub virtually in the presence of Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh.

According to the agreement, the Manipur government will provide furnished 10,000 square feet built up space with part of operation cost.

KIIT-TBI, a technology business incubator, is a center of excellence. It is now reaching out to the East and Northeast regions of India and helping various stakeholders to establish sustainable incubation platforms.

Assam inks MoU with NDDB for dairy devpt in state

Assam signed an MoU withNational Development Board(NDDB) for holistic dairy development in state through an Rs 2000-crore joint venture company aimed at processing 10 lakh litres of milk daily through six new milk processing units in seven years.
Under the arrangement, 15,000 high milk-yielding Gir cows of Gujarat will be inducted in the state to ensure higher returns to the dairy farmers besides creating huge EMPLOYMENT at various levels of the milk value chain.

The six dairy processing facilities will be set up across Assam where milk from more than 4100 dairy Cooperative Societies shall be processed, packed and marketed. The plan also envisages setup of Infrastructure for cattle feed and silage manufacturing within the state. The State Government will ensure financial aid and support to the planned interventions of this joint venture through the concerned departments with the support of Government of India under various schemes of the government.

This joint venture will also be guided, mentored and managed by NDDB, which will also be bringing in tried and tested technological innovations like sex-sorted semen, ration balancing programme, ethno veterinary medicine, manure management projects etc.

CM distributes 1444 crore housing repair assistance

Chief ministerNaveen Patnaik launched the distribution ofhouserepair assistance of Rs 3,000 to the beneficiaries of rural housing schemes.

As part of the initiative, financial assistance of Rs 1,444 crore has been released to the accounts of nearly 31 lakh pucca house beneficiaries, official sources said.

In accordance with a cabinet decision taken on December 21, the would also provide Rs 5,000 to each identified eligible beneficiary not provided with a pucca house for repair of their own dwellings.

Odishais the only state to have distributed such house repair assistance to the pucca house beneficiaries. The Money has been released to the accounts of the beneficiaries around 15 days after approval of the state cabinet, said the chief minister.

Around 12.25 lakh identified beneficiaries in the state are waiting to get a pucca house under the Centres scheme.

Tamil Nadu sanctions Rs 33 crore to digitise forest dept activities

Digitization offorest departmenthas got a shot in the arm with the sanctioning Rs 33.1 crore for the same.

According to Supriya Sahu, additional chief secretary to the government and forest secretary, the government had issued an order on Thursday, according sanction to digitize forest boundaries and other daily activities of the forest department.
She said the government order was issued after a careful perusal of the digitization proposal by the principal chief conservator of forests to develop a strong geo-spatial Database for better management of forest and wildlife habitats, project formulation, and delineation of wildlife corridors, eco-sensitive zones and wetlands, among other things.

The government order said the digitization work would be carried out in two years and allocated Rs 6.1 crore for the current fiscal and another Rs 27 crore for 2022-23.

73% senior citizens in state living in penury

The state has 42.35 lakh senior citizens living below the https://exam.pscnotes.com/POVERTY-line”>Poverty Line, yet the government does not run a single shelter house for the elderly.

According to a 2011 Population survey, the total number of senior citizens over the age of 60 is 57.91 lakh. This indicates that 73% ofKarnataka‘s elderly population is impoverished. They receive a monthly pension from the State Government and all haveBPLcards.

The poverty statistics was made available during the winter session in Belagavi in December. The data was presented in response to MLCTejaswini Gowda‘s concern about senior citizens.

Open Rock Museum In Hyderabad

Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Science, Technology, and Earth Sciences opened the first “Open Rock Museum” in Hyderabad on January 6, 2021.

About 35 different from various locations of India are on show at the museum.

The age of these rocks varies between 3.3 billion and 55 million years.

These rocks also represent the Earth’s deepest portion, which is up to 175 kilometers below the surface.

The CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute hosted the opening of the Museum (NGRI).

A.P. Deputy CM urges industries to allocate CSR funds for education, health sectors

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Revenue Dharmana Krishnadas on January 9 exhorted the industries to take up service activities in their vicinity to the extent possible and win the hearts of people.

Inaugurating an ultra modern kitchen established by Aurobindo Pharma Foundation, CSR wing of Aurobindo Pharma Limited, in Dr. B.R.Ambedkar University campus at Etcherla, Mr. Krishnadas said that the kitchen established with 2 crore would help 300 students to have meals at a time.

He said that the establishment of an RO water plant was also a good initiative aimed at protecting the Health of students.

Govt to tie up with agency for stroke-related cases

With the state witnessing an increase in strokecases, the cabinet has granted permission to collaborate with HLL Lifecare Limited, a government of India enterprise, to develop a hub and spoke model at various primary Health centres (PHCs), community health centres (CHCs) and the super specialty block of Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital for the required treatment.

The health minister said that the has written to the chief electoral officer to relieve health workers from election duty, for which the commission has agreed. Health workers cannot work during Elections when there is an ongoing pandemic, he said.

Pune leads in teen vaccination in Maharashtra, Thane stands second

Among all the districts inMaharashtra, Pune has managed to vaccinate the highest number of adolescents so far, covering more than 1.48 lakh (24%) of its 15-18 years Population with the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

The second spot in the list is occupied by Thane, which has immunized over 1.43 lakh teenagers.

The state has covered nearly 14.83 lakh or 24.48% of its adolescent population with the first dose ofCovaxinso far, state Health department data showed.

Punes eligible population in the 15-18 age group is about 5.53 lakh., while Mumbais is nearly 6.12 lakh.
