At 23%, Rajasthan has biggest gender divide in literacy in India

Rajasthanhas the biggest gender divide of 23.2% in terms of Literacy rate across the country, making it one of the most gender unequal states.

TheNational Statistical Office(NSO) report released in January says the literacy rate among males in the survey year (2017 and 2018) was 80.08%, while for females it was 57.6%. The literacy rate of females in the state is the second-worst in the country.

The census data of 2001 and 2011 says literacy levels in the state have jumped from 60.40% to 66.11%.

Women have registered a major jump from 43.90% to 52.12% while men have recorded a slight rise from 75.70% to 79.19% in the same duration.

The 2011 Census figures say female literacy was worst inJaloreandSirohiwith 38.47% and 39.73%, respectively. The worst performing block for the same reason was Kotra inTonkwith a 16.49% literacy rate of females.

Unlocking Huge Potential of Mineral Exploration

The Geological Survey of India has designated 100 mineral blocks with geological potential for auction. It began working in 2014.
The mission ensures quantitative and qualitative enhancement in livestock manufacturing systems, specially in Sheep, Goat, Pig, Poultry, Feed and Fodder sector.

Committee for Coal Based Hydrogen Production

To Prepare Road Map for Coal based Hydrogen Production the Ministry of Coal Constitutes an Expert Committee and Task Force .

CSCs Approved by Passport Services

The Common Services Centres has received approvals to operate and manipulate Passport Seva Kendra kiosks in rural areas.

Highlights:

The Village Entrepreneur (VLE) who runs the CSC will be commissioned to collect the documents, photos, and other details required for the passport process, as well as initial non-Police verification.

A nominal charge of up to Rs one hundred should be charged for the same.

The pilot program was launched in some CSCs in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

Full-fledged service is about to roll out across the country.

AUSINDEX – Bilateral Exercise

Indian and Australian navies commenced the bilateral exercising AUSINDEX.

Highlights:

From the INDIAN NAVY, INS Shivalik and INS Kadmatt are taking part in AUSINDEX 2021, the fourth version of the bilateral naval exercise.

Under the Eastern Naval Command, they form the part of the Indian Navys Eastern Fleet based at Visakhapatnam.

Both are indigenously designed and built.

INS Kadmatt is an anti-submarine corvette and INS Shivalik is a guided missile stealth frigate.
