Himachal Pradesh unit under lens over extra neutral alcohol ‘diversion’

A day after the State Taxes and Excise Department (STED) detected illegal stock of one lakh bulk litres of spirit worth Rs 58.50 lakh at a Kala Amb pharmaceutical company, it has come to Light that extra neutral alcohol (ENA) worth Rs 4.88 crore was bought by Ambala-based sister concern of the firm. Most of the stock was purchased inthe second half of the last financial year. Now, it is being ascertained where this huge quantity was sold.

The STED teams complaint to the Kala Amb Police was referred to the Special Investigation Team probing the hooch case as it is linked to the unauthorised liquor trade being probed by it. Additional SP, Sirmaur, Babita Rana said, After examining the complaint of STED officials against Dutch Formulation, the case has been referred to the SIT probing the Mandi hooch case.

Cultural Tourism to make a cocktail of culture, history, heritage of State

The new tourism policy of the will prove to be a milestone in providing an opportunity to witness and cherish the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Jharkhand. For this, the State Government will develop an integrated tribal complex under which tourists will get to see the culture, HISTORY and heritage of Jharkhand at one place; they will also enjoy the taste of different cuisines.

This cocktail will be served to the tourists of the cultural tourism. The local dance, song and music will also be showcased in this cocktail. The aim of this tourism package is to attract tourists by giving them an experience of the cultural diversity and vibrancy of the State so that people of the State could get another source of livelihood.

Under the tourism policy, it is planned to take along the rich heritage of Jharkhand in crafts and cuisine to promote sustainable livelihood and generate self-EMPLOYMENT through cultural tourism. The State’s rich tradition of handicrafts and Investment opportunities will be promoted in line with the Industries Department.

Regional cuisine will get a new dimension through the food festival. Jharkhand’s handicrafts will be displayed at tourism information centres, hotels, Airports, RAILWAY stations and other important public places. Efforts will be made to promote handicrafts and regional cuisine through various tourism exhibitions in and outside the State.

PDS beneficiaries will get fortified rice: Bihar govt

The state cabinet gave its clearance to the governments decision to supply poshanyukt chawal (fortified rice) to the public distribution shops (PDSs) in the state to overcome the problem of Malnutrition in the large chunk of Population both in the rural and urban areas.

In this regard, the Bihar State Food and Civil Supply Corporation (BSCSC) has been authorized to select the agencies required for the supply of fortified rice to the PDSs. The selection will be done through a proper tendering process.

The agencies concerned will also be authorized to procure fortified rice kernel (FRK) that has to be mixed with rice to prepare the fortified rice. It would require mixing of 1kg ofFRKwith 99kg rice. The proposal for the cabinet clearance had been moved by the food and Consumer protection department. As its target people, the scheme will cover 85% of rural population and 75% of those living in the urban areas.

The sanction was also given to the proposal of the Health department for the creation of 32 posts to man Bihar Health Science University,Patna.
The building construction department has been authorized to select representatives from Bihar School of Darshan or those authorised by it, to prepare the curriculum required for the FreeYoga KendraatShastri Nagarin Patna.

Madhya Pradesh government to set up music academy, state award in Lata Mangeshkar’s memory

TheMadhya Pradeshgovernment announced to set up a music academy and a museum in memory ofLata Mangeshkarat her birthplace,Indore.
A statue of the singer will also be installed in Indore. Along with these, a state award will be named after Lata Mangeshkar, which would be given to artists on the occasion of her birth anniversary.

The announcement came a day after the legendary singer died at a hospital in Mumbai on Sunday after multi-organ failure.

She was born in a locality near a Gurudwara in Indore on September 28, 1929.

Gujarat government sanctions Rs 249 crore for water projects

The on Monday gave in-principle assent to allocation of Rs 249 crore for water supply networks in one Municipal Corporation and ten municipalities of the state.

The Money has been sanctioned under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana. The government has set a target of achieving 100% coverage of all houses under the Nal Se Jal programme, the statement added.

Various water supply projects will be taken up in the municipalities of Gandhidham, Gondal-Keshod, Rapar,Jetalpur-Navagadh, Porbandar-Chhaya,Kalavad, Bhanwad, Bhuj and Kutiyana. The municipal corporation of Junagadh will also get water supply projects, the release said.

Rajasthan government inks solar deals worth over Rs 3 lakh crore

Strengthening its reputation as the leading hub for ,Rajasthangovernment signed Investment agreements of Rs 3.05 lakh crore with eight companies including public sector companies power companies like NTPC, NHPC, SjVN, THPC and SECI.

The government also entered into agreements with private sector companies including Reliance, Axis Energy and SAEL.
The largest investment commitment has come from Reliance which has announced to invest Rs 1 lakh crore in the areas of solar power generation and power transmission.

This was part of State Government‘s proposed investment summit – Invest Rajasthan – which has already attracted investment of more than Rs 7 lakh crore out of which around Rs 5 lakh crore are in the renewable sector.
Chief minister Ashok Gehlot said the state government would facilitate the companies to realise their investment plans.
