Himachal CM says State has intensified efforts to secure rights over Chandigarh

The Himachal Pradesh government has intensified its efforts to secure its legitimate rights over the Union Territory of Chandigarh, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said.

The Punjab Reorganisation Act, 1966, clearly mentions Himachal Pradeshs entitlement to its share of 7.19 percent in Chandigarh but the state has been deprived of this right since the very beginning, Sukhu said in a statement and called it a grave injustice to the people of Himachal.

Now, the Himachal Pradesh government is raising its voice on all appropriate platforms to secure its legitimate rights, including the entitlement of a 7.19 percent share in Chandigarh, he added.Sukhu mentioned that a Cabinet sub-committee has been formed to look into all aspects of the issue and file a report.

The will decide its course of action after taking into consideration the findings and recommendations of the report, the chief minister said. He added that the state government is exploring all Options to recover its power share arrears as well.

The state has also demanded to raise its power share in all BBMB projects in Himachal Pradesh as the states Resources“>Natural Resources are being used to generate electricity.The chief minister said the current distribution from BBMB power projects allocates 51.8 percent to Punjab, 37.51 percent to Haryana and 7.19 percent to Himachal Pradesh.

Ukhand to implement Uniform Civil Code soon: CM

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the expert committee set to prepare a draft of the (UCC) has completed its work and UCC would be implemented in Uttarakhand soon.

The UCC has become a subject of national debate after Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly advocated for it on June 27. The national law commission has also initiated the process on the UCC in the country and the exhaustive draft of the UCC prepared by the expert committee set up by Uttarakhand could provide vital clues and directions in this endeavour.

GIDA gears up to accelerate process of setting up industries

In an attempt to accelerate the process of setting up of industries, the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) will soon initiate the application process for allocation of 253 industrial plots in different sectors, including the plastic and readymade garment park projects among others.

According to GIDA Chief Executive Officer Pawan Agrawal, the allocation process for the new plots will expedite the development of a plastic park.

As per the available data, 92 plots with a total area of 2,18,859 square metre will be allotted in the plastic park located in Sector 28. The sizes of these plots range from 594 square metre to 20,764 square metre. A total of 42 plots will be available with sizes up to 1,000 square metre, 42 plots with sizes ranging from 1,001 to 4,000 square metre, five plots with sizes ranging from 4,001 to 20,000 square metre, and three plots with sizes exceeding 20,001 square metre, for which entrepreneurs/investors can submit their applications.

Similarly, a total of 41 new plots will be allocated at the Garment Park in GIDA Sector 26, covering a total area of 28,340 square metre. These plots will have sizes ranging from 510 to 1,000 square metre.

Notably, GIDA has emerged as the preferred destination for investors over the last six years, similar to Noida, due to improved law and order situation as well as -friendly and transparent policies of the Yogi government. During the Global Investors Summit held in February, Gorakhpur received Investment proposals worth Rs 1.71 lakh crore.

Adani Groups Godda thermal plant starts commercial ops

TheAdani Groups newly commissioned 2X800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Jharkhands Godda district has begun its commercial operations from June 26, the company said in a statement.
The reliability run rest, including the commercial operation tests of the new second unit, was completed on June 25 in presence of the officials of the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and the Power Grid Corporation of Bangladesh, the statement added. The first unit of the plant began its commercial operations on April 6.

The Rs 25,000 crore unit will supply 1,496 MW power to the neighbouring country as part of its power purchase agreement (PPA) which it inked with the BPDB in November, 2017.

The power will be supplied through 400 KV transmission grids which are connected to the Bangladesh grid. The PPA inked between APJL and BPDB is for 25 years.

Govt to keep watch on illegal sand trade

The mines and geology department has geared up to check illegal sand trading in the state in view of the restrictions on its mining for three months till September 30. The districts have been directed to keep buffer stocks. Teams have been constituted to conduct raids on the illegal miners and black-marketers.

There are many licensed mining areas in the districts like Patna, Bhojpur, Saran, Vaishali, Jamui, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Gaya and Lakhisarai. Besides, small mining fields are there in Madhepura, Kishanganj and Banka districts. Just a couple of days earlier, two task force teams were formed to keep a vigil on the riverbanks of Patna, Bhojpur, Saran, Vaishali, Rohtas, Arwal, Aurangabad and Gaya. District mining task force will be formed under Rule 74 of BiharMinerals (Concession and Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transport & Storage) Rules, 2019 in each district in coming days under the supervision of district magistrates. The team will comprise SP and district planning officer. The department also has its own boats for river patrolling, including 4 in Patna, 3 in Bhojpur, 3 in Vaisali andSarandistricts. Besides, the boats of state Disaster Management department and vehicles provided by the District Administration are also used in patrolling and raids.

Chhattisgarh CJ lauds efforts of Lok Adalats in state

Chhattisgarhhigh court Chief JusticeRamesh Sinhacommended the joint efforts of everyone involved in the success of theLok Adalatsin Chhattisgarh. Sinha, who was a senior judge in Allahabad High Court before his appointment as Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh HC in March this year, also said that results were better than those expected in Uttar Pradesh.

The Chief Justice addressed the officers via videoconferencing about the upcomingNational Lok Adalat, scheduled to be held on May 13, 2023. The conference was attended by all district judges, Family Court judges, judicial officers of districts, collectors, superintendents of Police, officers of banks, Insurance companies, president of Bar Association and municipal commissioners among others.

CM to launch registration for Mukhyamantri Sikho-Kamao Yojana on July 4

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has implemented Mukhyamantri Sikho-Kamao Yojana for the Skill development of the youth as well as for the facility of on-the-job training on the lines of learn and earn. On July 4, the Chief Minister will start the process of registration of youth applicants in this scheme. CM Chouhan will also interact with the youths in the programme to be held at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal.

Chief Minister Chouhan has started effective implementation of Mukhyamantri Sikho-Kamao Yojana to boost the skill development potential of the youths of the state and to connect them with EMPLOYMENT. In this scheme, stipend has been arranged for providing skill training to the youth in service sector along with industries. Youth will be given vocational skill training with latest technology and process. In the first phase, one lakh youths are targeted to be trained in employment-oriented skills. The target will be increased as needed. During the training, the youths will get a stipend of Rs 8,000 to 10,000 per month. After passing the prescribed examination after training or after formative assessment, certificate of State Council for Vocational Training will be given by Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development and Employment Board. For this, companies and service sector have been linked to the scheme. Such industrial and business establishments of the country and state will be eligible under the scheme, which have PAN and GST registration. Till date about 10 thousand 429 establishments have been registered. These also include 23 establishments of other states. About 34 thousand 690 vacancies (training seats) have been created by the establishments.

Under Mukhyamantri Sikho-Kamao Yojana, local resident youths of Madhya Pradesh aged 18 to 29 years are eligible, whose educational qualification is 12th, ITI passed or higher. The selected young students will be called trainees. The stipend payable for each course has been determined on the basis of the prescribed minimum educational qualification. In this, 12th or below class passed youth will be given 8 thousand rupees per month, ITI passed 8 thousand 500, diploma passed 9 thousand and graduate passed or higher educational qualification youth will be given 10 thousand rupees per month stipend.

Gujarat added 83k telecom subscribers in April

Gujarat saw a net addition of some 83,245telecom subscribers in Aprilthis year, according to the latest telecom subscription report by (TRAI).

Gujarats net subscriber base increased to 6.63 crore in April 2023 compared to 6.62 crore in March this year, registering a marginal increase. This comes at a time when across India, the number oftelecom subscribersdeclined by 7.9 lakh to touch 114.31 crore in April.

With this, the tele density in Gujarat stood at 92.73% pan India, according to the report. While this is higher than the national tele density of 84.46%, Gujarat is still lagging behind nine states which have much higher tele density. These include Delhi (273.32%), Kerala (121.66%), Himachal Pradesh (119.24%), Punjab (114.68%) and even industrialized states such as Tamil Nadu (103.41%), Maharashtra (101.61%), Karnataka (101.55%) and Andhra Pradesh (93.05%).

To control post-partum haemorrhage, health dept to start using UBT

To combat postpartum hemorrhage, which is the largest direct cause of maternal mortality, the Health department is all set to make use of uterine balloon tamponade (UBT) among pregnant Women with severe bleeding during childbirth. The state is taking measures to bring the maternal mortality ratio (MMR) to 70 deaths per 1 lakh or below by 2030. The MMR in the state, which was 141 maternal deaths per 1 lakh live births in 2017-19, has reduced to 113 deaths per 1 lakh live births in 2018-20.
UBTs are a medical device for the treatment which are inserted inside the uterus and inflated by a healthcare staff to prevent the hemorrhaging for stabilizing the woman.

The health department is hopeful that with the use of UBT, they will be able to prevent maternal deaths by reducing the requirement for operation and also it will reduce the chances of blood transfusions.

In the state, there are 2,065 delivery points identified in the state, out of which 160 are centres with first referral Services.

At 10.6 million, 34% jump in facial ID based on Aadhaar

Aadhaar-based face authentication is gaining traction, having jumped to 10.6 million, up 34% since the start of this financial year, due to its increasing use in accessing central as well as several Services. Latest government data estimates that its use has increased over 22 times since last September.

The service, introduced by theUnique Identification Authority of India(UIDAI) in October 2021, initially saw a slow to take off but has gained traction in recent months.
