In a bid to promote adventure sports and allied tourism activities in a big way to make Haryana one of the most sought-after destinations, the Manohar Lal Khattar Government has constituted Milkha Singh Adventure Sports Club named after the countrys ace sprinter.

The legendary athlete had passed away on June 18, this year after a month-long fight with Covid-19.

The club has been established under the existing Haryana Academy of Adventure Sports (a registered Society) with an aim to introduce, promote and develop adventure sports in the State along with creation of training facilities for adventure sports and to develop quality .

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had in June announced to constitute a club to promote adventure sports and name it after Flying Sikh Milkha Singh.

It will undertake setting up of adventure sports training centres, academies, satellite centres, base camps etc and coordinate with such institutions in the country and abroad and also, explore collaboration with National Adventure Club (India), India Mountaineering Foundation among other such organisations.

Apart from this, the club will also provide bursaries or fellowships to assist individuals in pursuing advance training for excellence in adventure sports and encourage the private sector to contribute financially to the development of such facilities. It will also undertake a certificate course in adventure sports coaching, lifeguard in water sports, sports management to general EMPLOYMENT opportunities, according to the notification.

Notably, the Chief Minister had in the month of September launched adventure sports such as parasailing, paramotor and jet scooter at Tikkar Taal, Morni Hills in Panchkula district under State Governments ambitious plan on development of adventure sports activities to promote tourism in Haryana.

The State Government is now exploring the possibility of starting water sports activities in Brahma Sarovar, Karnal lake, Damdama lake, Tiliyar lake among other water bodies.

Punjab Government to ramp up registration of workers

Ahead of the upcoming Assembly , the government has asked the Labour Department to register around 60,000 construction workers in the state every day. The target is to take the number of registered workers from the current 3.70 lakh to 10 lakh in the coming weeks so as to provide financial benefits to maximum workers.

The benefits, however, cannot be extended to workers who have not worked for 90 days in the year they apply for benefits in. It has been learnt that MGNREGA workers might also be registered as construction workers. In an order of the Labour Commissioner on December 1, all deputy commissioners have been asked to ensure smooth registration of eligible beneficiaries, including MGNREGA workers. Ironically, the Labour Department in 2017 had issued orders on the directives of the Centre that MGNREGA workers cant be registered as construction workers.

Wages raised to Rss 300 per day in 4 years: Himachal CM

The has hiked the minimum wages of daily wage workers from Rs 210 to Rs 300 per day in the past four years, said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over a meeting with the representatives of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) here yesterday.

He said that the government would also ensure that industrial units pay adequate wages to their workers. ASHA and anganwari workers had done excellent work during the Covid pandemic. As a result, Himachal Pradesh emerged as the first state in the country to achieve a target of 100 per cent first dose vaccination. Now, the state was about to achieve 100 per cent vaccination of the eligible Population, he added.

Thakur said the government had enhanced the honorarium for ASHA workers by Rs 1,750 in the past four years, besides enhancing the honorarium of anganwari workers by Rs 2,850 per month.

The Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya has transferred a total amount of Rs 6.72 crore tobank accounts of Anganwadi workers for their contribution as frontline workers during Covid-19 pandemic across state. She said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had announced to give an amount of Rs 2,000 per month under Anganwadi Protsahan Rashi scheme to Anganwadi workers and their assistants for next five months from September as an incentive for their contribution during pandemic.

Since first installment was transferred in October by CM, Arya transferred second installment to bank accounts of a total of 33,631 Anganwadi workers. She said that online transfer of funds saves time and promotes transparency between government and beneficiaries.

She stated that Anganwadi workers are backbone of department considering which has also hiked their monthly allowance.

For harnessing agricultural and processed food products exports potential from the eastern Uttar Pradesh , APEDA (Agriculture Produce Export Development Authority) organised Agri-Export Conference-cum-Buyer Seller Meet at Mirzapur, attended by Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Anupriya Patel, and more than 700 farmers, exporters and farmers.

Addressing the conference, Anupriya Patel said that the increase in agricultural and processed food products exports from Purvanchal would not only boost Indias Foreign Exchange earnings but also help in doubling the income of farmers as well as boost EMPLOYMENT opportunities in the region.

The minister said that the country had set a $400 billion target for merchandise exports for 2021-22 and $262 billion of exports had already been achieved during April-November 2021-22 period.

She said that a record export target of $43 billion had been set for agricultural products in 2021-22 and because of efforts by APEDA and farmers, this target would be achieved in the current fiscal.

Jharkhand chapter of Cardiological Society of India (CSI) was adjudged best branch in annual convention of CSI held at Hyderabad from December 2 to December 5. CSI Jharkhand Chapter, president Dr Satish and Secretary Prattay Guha Sarkar received award on Saturday in Hyderabad.

Talking to The Pioneer over phone, Secretary of Jharkhand Chapter of CSI, Dr. Prattay Guha Sarkar informed that State received award of best branch during annual convention of CSI held in Hyderabad for its excellent work done during the COVID-19 crisis in 2019-20.

The State is moving fast in providing medical facilities to cardiac patients. Sarkar further said that criteria of CSI to see which chapter has done well is academic works, research, social work and spread of public awareness. The States Chapter worked excellently in all these criteria and emerged as best in all these fields. A total of 11 publications of research were submitted which is very important in itself, it means every month one publication research was submitted. They also judged the State on how much it is showing progress every year, he added.

Jharkhand performed very well in providing cardiac related treatments during last few years and at same time the is also improving rapidly. Earlier 70 to 80 per cent of cases of cardiac arrest used to be referred to other states like Vellore and Delhi and others, but this practice has reduced.

In coming two to three years State will touch many milestones in this direction and emerge as one of best medical facility providers in cardiology, said Sarkar.

Cities selected under Smart City Mission should be made ‘smart’ in real sense, says Nitish Kumar

Biharchief minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday asked the urban development and housing department (UDHD) officials to expedite construction works in the state’s four cities selected under theSmart City Missionand make the four cities smart in real sense.
Bihars Patna, Muzaffarpur, Biharsharif and Bhagalpur cities have been selected for being refurbished under the Centres Smart City Mission.

Highlighting the pace of Urbanization in the state during his rule in the last 16 years, Nitish said, When we got an opportunity to work for the people of the state in 2005, we made several efforts to ensure development of urban areas and their continuous progress. In 2005, there were only 112 urban bodies in Bihar. The number increased to 258 in 2021. Similarly, the total Population of urban bodies in 2005 was around 81.49 lakh. It has increased to 158.71 lakh in 2021.

The CM also inaugurated 12,515 houses built in different towns under thePradhan Mantri AwasYojana – Urban (PMAY-U). Nitish himself handed over the keys of newly-built houses to four beneficiaries namely Manju Devi, Sushila Devi, Sanjida Parveen and Shamima Khatoon, during the function.

He also handed over the loan amount of over Rs 5.81 crore among 479 self-help groups (SHGs) under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Yojana.

The Chhattisgarh government’s flagship scheme Godhan Nyay Yojana, started to procure cow dung from livestock owners and prepare organic fertilizer, will now be implemented on a mission mode. For this, a Godhan Nyay Mission was formed on Sunday.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel released an amount of Rs 50 lakhs for the smooth operation of Godhan Nyay Mission.

The Special Secretary of the Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture Department and Managing Director of Godhan Nyay Mission, Dr. S. Bharathi Dasan, said: “Godhan Nyay Mission has been formed with an objective of proper implementation of the scheme from a commercial and scientific point of view to ensure the beneficial use of cow dung besides assuring that the dung collectors get the maximum benefit.”

He added that Agriculture, , Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Urban Administration, Panchayat and Rural Development, State Rural Livelihood Mission and Khadi and Village Industries Departments will participate in operating this mission.

The Services of scientists, organizations having management and Marketing expertise, NGOs and consultants of companies will be taken to implement Godhan Nyay Yojana on a mission mode.

As a part of Godhan Nyay Mission, an action plan will be prepared and implemented for the sale of vermicompost and other organic Fertilizers and to transform the Gauthans into Rural Industrial Parks.

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan announces PESA Act rollout to change lives of tribals

Madhya Pradeshgovernment issued the notification to bring into force the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act 1996 (PESA) that aims to empower panchayat bodies to effect development works and allocation of Resources.

Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made the announcement and read out the notification before a gathering of tribals in Indore to mark the martyrdom day of freedom fighter Tantya Bhil. It came just before the panchayat polls were announced.

A fortnight ago, the Centre had asked four laggard states, MP included, to implement the Act.

Gujarat: Policy to promote ethanol production soon

With the aim of providing benefits to both ethanol manufacturing units and farmers, theGujaratgovernment will shortly announce ethanol production promotion policy, 2021. The is expected to announce a number of incentives to promote the policy.
The policy, which is expected to be announced before the forthcoming edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, aims to utilize, develop, and promote domestic feedstock of agri by-products with emphasis on maize for production of bio-ethanol, thereby increasingly substituting fossil fuels.

The goal of the policy is to enable availability of bio-ethanol in the market, thereby increasing its blending Percentage to 20% in petrol by 2025 from the current blending rate of 7.93%.

All farmers engaged in maize cultivation through traditional or hybridization method supplying the maize produce to ethanol manufacturing units will be eligible under the policy. Among the agri-products used as agri-input for ethanol production, maize comparatively needs less water, gives higher yield per hectare in a shorter period and can be grown in any season. With high starch content, maize has the potential as a grain feedstock for ethanol production. As much as 380 litres of ethanol can be produced from 1 metric tonne of maize.

The policy recognizes the need to provide incentives to eligible units in the ethanol manufacturing sector for the Growth of this sunrise sector. The government will provide incentives to set up new distilleries to produce ethanol and to install any method approved by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
