Sirsa district gets award for anti-drug drive

Sirsa has been adjudged as the best performing district on roll out of the joint action plan for the prevention of drugs and substance abuse among children and illicit trafficking during July to December 2021.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and the Control Bureau (NCB) had jointly launched the action plan to prevent the drugs and substance abuse in February 2021.

The panel and the bureau selected 262 districts under the action plan to wean away children from drug abuse and stop selling of Intoxicants in surrounding areas of schools/educational and child care institutions.

The NCPCR and the NCB selected 20 best performing districts, including Sirsa of Haryana out of 262 districts, on the basis of indicators of the joint action plan.

B-Schools to provide fair price platforms to forest produce of State

A pilot project to provide a market for forest produce has started in Simdega. Former Deputy Commissioner (DC) Simdega, Sushant Gaurav had a meeting with the representatives of Indian School of Business Hyderabad for its successful implementation.

This project will be later extended to other districts like Simdega where forest produce is available in large quantities. The tribal community and other villagers depend on the forest produce for additional income and maintaining their livelihood.

A strong bond has existed between the two for centuries. Despite this, people never get a fair price for the minor forest produce they collect. Following this step, the tribal communities will be able to secure their livelihood by selling forest produce in an organized manner.

CM Nitish Kumar promises help to Neera producers

CMNitish Kumaron Sunday said his government would provide grants from theCM Relief Fundto those engaged in the business ofNeeraproduction, if the enterprise turned out to be successful.

Talking to reporters after addressing his 12th and the last meeting of the social reforms campaign atMadhepura,Nitishsaid his government was making all possible efforts to encourage Neera production to dissuade people from the toddy tapping business. The families who were earlier engaged in toddy business for earning their livelihood were being given different kinds of assistance to enhance Neera production.

Efforts on to step up use of IT in Chhattisgarh courts

ChhattisgarhChief Justice Arup Kumar Goswami, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and other senior officials had a meeting to discuss various issues, including promoting effective use of Information technology (IT) in courts in the state.

Various topics related to the high court and the Courts of Chhattisgarh including more effective use of e-courts, progress of e-courts and e-challan system, attendance of doctors in court through video conferencing were discussed in the meeting.

In the Courts of Chhattisgarh, information technology is being used to make the judicial process convenient and transparent for the citizens and to make the citizens available online information quickly.

Push to agri processing will boost investment

A push to agri processing, research and development ecosystem and upscaling Micro, Small and Medium enterprises (MSME) will helpMadhya Pradeshattract investments and industries in the state, said BThiagarajan, chairman, Confederation of Indian (CII) Western Region.

As Madhya Pradesh is preparing a new industrial and EV policy likely to be announced in April, Thiagarajan talking to TOI on the side lines of its MP annual session said, The conventional way of attracting investments by giving land wont work much for MP. The state should boost agri processing and position itself as a research, development and innovation destination.
CIIs western region chairman stressed on the need to generate a talent pool in the state given the rapid pace of manufacturing across the country to fill the skill gap.

Defence manufacturing in Gujarat gets shot in the arm

Already a preferred destination due to its entrepreneurial spirit and Sound manufacturing base,Gujaratis on its way to developing a DEFENCE manufacturing ecosystem.
While defence manufacturers from across the globe are looking to invest here, Gujarat already has a few manufacturers and startups supplying a range of technology products to defence manufacturers, theIndian Army, theDefence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO) and others.

The state has thus far received Rs 292 crore investment in direct defence manufacturing with companies such as Larsen and Toubro,Jaivel Aerospace, Unique Forge (Gujarat) andPushpak Aerospaceoperating here. It is also Home to at least 100 Micro, Small and Medium enterprises (MSMEs) that supply components and parts to aerospace and defence original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

Project ‘Vaani’ to boost confidence among young girls in Tonk district

Even after several programmes running for Education of girls and Women Empowerment, the root cause is lack of self-confidence and self-belief in young girls, mostly in rural regions of Rajasthan, that unable to bring them to the height of .

On such issues, the District Administration of Tonk is initiating project ‘Vaani’ to bring up self-confidence and self-belief in young girls and also in their families where parents will understand that girls are not lagging boys in any way.

The research made by the administration for Vaani shows that messages like ‘daughters have to go to their in-laws’, ‘Mukti is only through the birth of a son’, ‘teach household works to girls so that she will work when went to her in-laws’, lead to loss of self-confidence among girls.

Even Shiksha Chaupal model, Awards to children, programme like ‘mera manch, meri awaz (my stage, my voice), gender sensitisation of boys, Sports activities, community projects like library, parks and bolti dewarein (speaking walls) are some initiatives included in this project.

Taraqqiati Scheme: Computerization and Digitization of Wakf Records

The Ministry implements Qaumi Waqf Board Taraqqiati Scheme (QWBTS) under which financial assistance to State Waqf Boards (SWBs) towards computerization and digitization of Waqf records.

Under the scheme the Ministry also supports the SWBs for deployment of manpower viz. Assistant Programmer, Survey Assistant, Accountant and Legal Assistant, setting up of Video Conferencing Facility, Centralized Computing Facility (CCF) & Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solution for better administration of SWBs.

A dedicated online portal called WAMSI (Waqf Assets Management System of India) has been developed by this Ministry for computerization & digitization of records of waqf properties and Geographic Information System (GIS) Mapping of waqf properties to prevent encroachment under Qaumi Waqf Board Taraqqiati Scheme (QWBTS).

Joint study on India-Bangladesh trade pact to be finalised soon: Commerce Ministry

India and Bangladesh will soon finalise a joint study on the prospects of entering into a bilateral , which aims at further strengthening economic ties between the countries, the commerce ministry said.

Both sides held extensive discussions on a variety of issues including the development of RAILWAY Infrastructure, port infrastructure, joint study on Comprehensive Economic PARTNERSHIP Agreement (CEPA), Border Haats, regional connectivity through multi-modal transportation, harmonisation of standards, mutual recognition agreement.

CEPA is a kind of comprehensive free trade pact under which two trading partners significantly reduce or eliminate customs duties on the maximum number of goods traded between them. They also liberalise norms to facilitate Services“>Trade in Services and boost investments.

Major exports from India to Bangladesh include Cotton, Cereals, fuel, vehicle parts and machinery and mechanical appliances.
