Amid a row over the status of Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela among the major stadia across the globe, the Odisha government on Friday claimed that it is the world’s largest facility in terms of seating capacity and it was certified by the International Hockey Federation (FIH).The Rourkela facility will host the Men’s World Cup Hockey, organised by the FIH, along with Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

Days after Punjabs industrialists and businessmen reportedly signed agreements with the Uttar Pradesh Government in the wake of deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday claimed that the state firmed up Rs 30,000 crore investment in the past nine months due to his Governments pro-industry environment and ease of doing business policies.

Referring to the recent meetings with industrialists in Hyderabad, Mann said that the entrepreneurs, associated with Food Processing and Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture, have shown keen interest in investing in Punjab, which will further strengthen the states Industrial Sector.

Notably, Punjab-based industrialists, mostly from Ludhiana, have met the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath early this week, and reportedly singed the agreements of Rs 2.30 thousand crores. Following a spate in crime incidents, related to threat calls for ransom from gangsters and shootouts, the states businessmen and traders have started believing that they were no more safe in Punjab”.

Himachal Pradesh govt mulls to create more municipal corporations in state

Himachal Pradeshchief ministerSukhvinder Singh Sukhusaid that the was contemplating to create a few Municipal Corporations in the state particularly in growing towns likeUna,Hamirpurand Baddi-Barotiwala provided they fulfil all the required norms.

He said that this would not only stop unplanned construction but also ensure planned development of these fast-emerging towns. He said that the authorities must also ensure planned development of these areas, besides laying special thrust on construction of parking and children parks.

He asked the officers to come up with a concrete plan to provide proper housing for slum dwellers, particularly in Shimla town so that they can live in a better and hygienic Environment by providing them affordable houses and better living conditions.

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that various welfare schemes were being implemented in the State but people were not aware of these schemes. He directed the officers to ensure wide publicity of these schemes so that the general public could be benefitted at large.

Ukhand lives up to the reputation of being the land of braves

Uttarakhand is popularly also referred to as the land of the brave soldiers and this will be reflected again during the Passing out Parade (PoP) at Indian Military Academy (IMA) on Saturday.Twenty nine youngmen from this small predominantly mountainous State would becomeofficersin the IndianArmyafter the PoP of the autumn term-2022 on Saturday.A total of 314 Gentlemen Cadets (GCs) would become proudofficersof the Indianarmyon Saturday when they step on the Antim Pag (last step) of the academy after the PoP.

Uttar Pradesh with 51 GCs leads the table of State-wise representation of GCs while Haryana is at second position with a passing out contingent of 30 GCs. Uttarakhandis at third place with a contingent of 29 GCs in the parade.

Bihar with 24 and Maharashtra and Punjab with 21 GCs each are other big contributors in the list. Himachal Pradesh would have 17 GCs in the passing out parade. The largest State in terms of area, Rajasthan would contribute 16 and the second largest state Madhya Pradesh would provide 15 GCs in the passing out contingent ofofficers.

Another big state Andhra Pradesh will have only four GCs in the PoP while Nadu would be represented by seven GCs in the passing out contingent.The State of Gujarat where serving in the armed forces is not considered a popular choice will have five GCs passing out with this course.The States of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand which were created along with Uttarakhandin the year 2000 would have less representation with only four and two GCs respectively. Incidentally both these States are much bigger in area and Population compared to Uttarakhand.

The IMA would also be sending a batch of 30 Foreign Gentlemen Cadets (FGCs) from 11 friendly foreign countries to become officers in their respective countries after the end of training.

Solar power: NER wins energy award

North Eastern RAILWAY (NER) zone was declared the leader in the energy conservation movement inUttar Pradeshby UPNEDA (Uttar Pradesh New and Development Agency).

The zone, which comprises three divisions of Lucknow, Izzatnagar and Varanasi, generated over 32 lakh kilowatts of energy with the use of rooftop solar panels at railway stations and buildings.

It helped them to save Rs 1.12 crore in 2021-22.

Jamshedpur Eye Hospital (JEH) kicked-off the New Year 2023 with the inauguration of its first Satellite Mobile Eye Clinic on Van as part of its larger community outreach programme to eliminate avoidable visual impairment among the local population. JEH will also be starting its new software-assisted Lazy Eye Therapy, in collaboration of Bynocs Solution, in which selected cases of adult amblyopia, a condition leading to loss or lack of development of clear vision in one or both eyes, to treat by a six-week software assisted Video Gaming Program.

The inauguration of the new programmes and facilities took place today at a special event in the JEH complex. Increase Bihar’s greencover to 17%, says CM Nitish Kumar

Chief ministerNitish Kumar asked the officials concerned to work for increasing the state’s green cover from existing 15% to 17%.

The state was left with just 9% of green cover after its bifurcation. “Massive plantation drives launched in 2012 saw the plantation of as many as 22 crore saplings in coming years. The state’s green cover has now reached 15%. We want to bring it to 17%,” he said.

The CM appealed to the people to plant saplings near their homes. “Increase in greenery has resulted in lovely surroundings in the state,” Nitish said. He asked the officials concerned to launch massive awareness campaigns across the state and expedite the planation drive to boost greenery.

The Chhattisgarh government is committed to the welfare of the labourers from the unorganized sector.

An official statement said the pioneer Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Bhoomiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana has been started to provide financial assistance to lakhs of landless agricultural labourers.

Under the scheme, an annual assistance of Rs 7,000 is given to the beneficiaries.

Registration of labourers is done in the e-Shramik portal for providing various assistance including skill enhancement and EMPLOYMENT to unorganized workers.

Nearly 82.40 lakhworkers have been registered in the portal. Chhattisgarh is in the 6th position in thecountry in terms of registration on the e-portal.

The retirement age of workers in industries and factories has been increased by two years from 58 to 60 years.

The Chhattisgarh State Migrant Workers Policy 2020 has been made effective to protect the interests of migrant workers. About 82.40 lakh workers in the unorganized sector have been registered in the e-Shram Portal.

Many schemes are run in Chhattisgarh for the welfare of labourers and their families. Through these schemes, these families get better opportunities for skill upgradation, healthcare and Education. The Mukhyamantri Nirman Shramik Mrityu Evam Divyang Sahayata Yojana, Mukhyamantri Nirman Shramik Nishulk Card Yojana, Mukhyamantri Noni Sashaktikaran Sahayata Yojana and Mukhyamantri Shramik Sian Sahayata Yojana are run by the government.

Narmada water will now reach every home in Indore through solar energy

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Indore is the land of innovations. Indore has established its identity as the epicenter of cleanliness. Indore residents have made another innovation under the Leadership of the young and energetic Mayor of Indore . Solar Energy will now be used to supply water to every house in Indore.

In Indore, the water of Narmada is now being supplied to homes through conventional electricity. Now this work will be done with the help of solar energy (green energy). For this, a solar power plant will be set up in Jalud.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that it is a matter of joy that green energy will be produced by issuing public Bonds. This is a wonderful experiment of Indore which only Indore can do. Appealing to the residents of Indore to cooperate in the implementation of this innovation, Chief Minister Chouhan said that we have to maintain the honor of Apna Indore-Sadaiv Pratham. Chief Minister Chouhan said this in a discussion with media representatives at the residence office.

It is worth mentioning that Jalud Pumping Station has an important role in providing Narmada water to every household in Indore. To operate from this station with solar energy, I.M.C.

Green bond public issue is being issued. Indore Municipal Corporation will be the first urban body in the country to take such an initiative. This will help Indore to get Carbon Credit. This initiative is an important step in the direction of making Madhya Pradesh green and clean by making zero carbon emissions.

Rajasthan government finds signs of large copper deposits in Bhilwara

As per preliminary findings ofRajasthan State Mineral Exploration Trust(RSMET), large reserves of copper are expected to be found atChandgarhin Kotdi tehsil ofBhilwara. During exploration of iron Ore in the location,RSMETcame across copper deposits at shallow depths.

The additional chief secretary of mines and petroleum, Subodh Agarwal said, Through RSMET, the department is getting 3,500 metre drilled for iron ore in Chandgarh village of Kotdi, Bhilwara. In the early stages of exploration, there are indications of not only iron ore but copper deposits as well.

About 54% of the highest copper deposits in the country are in Rajasthan. Jharkhand andMadhya Pradeshcome after Rajasthan.

Rajasthan is Home to the largest reserves and Resources of copper in the country, estimated at 813 million tonne (53.81%). It is followed by Jharkhand with 295 million tonne (19.54%) and Madhya Pradesh with 283 million tonne (18.75%).
Copper is found in Jhunjhunus Khetri, in addition to the districts Madan-Kudan-Kolihan, Banwas, Akwali, Singhana-Muradpura., and Devpura-Banera belt in Bhilwara, Deri-Basantgarh in Sirohi, Khoh-Dariba Kheda and Mundiyawas in Alwar and Manpura in Udaipur district.
