CM Jai Ram Thakur tables Himachal Pradesh economic survey 2021-22

While Himachal’s presenting theHimachal Pradesh economic survey2021-22 in the vidhan sabha on Thursday, chief ministerJai Ram Thakursaid that economy is expected to witness Growth of 8.3 per cent in 2021-22.

In real terms, the increase in GSDP pre-Covid and post-Covid is 2.7 per cent and sectors of the economy, pre-pandemic levels of output have been crossed, according to the survey.
The CM said the Real GDP or GDP at constant prices (2011-12) in the year 2021-22 is estimated at Rs 1,24,400 crore, as against the provisional estimate of GDP for the year 2020-21 of Rs 1,14,814 crore.

Nominal GDP or GDP at current prices in the year 2021-22 is estimated at Rs 1,75,173 crore, as against the provisional estimate of GDP for the year 2020-21 of Rs 1,56,675 crore.

The Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture and allied sectors have been the least impacted by the pandemic and the sector is expected to grow by 8.7 per cent in 2021-22.

As per the advance estimates the gross value added (GVA) of Industry will rise by 11 per cent in 2021-22 after contracting by 6.6 per cent in 2020-21.

Govt gifts several new schemes to masses

The on Thursday announced free distribution of food grains including one kilogram pulses per household to ration card holders so that poor people get protein and other nutrients. State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, while presenting the budget today announced that the State government is committed to provide protein nutrients to the poor and distribution of pulses to ration card holders is in this step.

Apart from announcing one kilogram of pulses to ration card holders, the finance minister also announced that people will get 100 units of free electricity. As the Soren government budget primarily focuses on farmers, tribalsand poor, the other announcement made in the budget is launch of Godhan Vikas Yojana in State under which the government will purchase cow dung from farmers for producing biogas.

The Godhan Vikas Yojana is on the lines of a similar scheme run by Chhattisgarh government aims at boosting the rural economy by procuring cow dung from farmers and cattle rearers initially in the rural area later in the urban area too.

Godhan Nyay Yojana is the scheme launched on 21st July 2020, on the occasion of Hareli, the first festival of the state, by the Chhattisgarh government led by Bhupesh Baghel. Under the scheme the Chhattisgarh government procures cow dung at Rs 2 per kilogram from farmers. The finance minister while presenting the budget also announced to set up reading rooms in Ranchi for students from BPL families preparing for competitive examinations like engineering, medical and other competitive examinations.

New textile policy soon: Bihar minister Shahnawaz Hussain

State industries ministerSyed Shahnawaz Hussainon Wednesday said the will soon come up with a new textile policy to promote manufacturing and trade in the sector.
Addressing the annual meeting of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here, Shahnawaz said the textile sector inBiharhas immense potential. He also claimed that the state has received industrial Investment proposals worth Rs 40,000crore in the last one year and many big industrial units will be launched here in the next two months.

Due to this, the industries minister held a meeting with a group of doctors, a few days before the budget session and decided to increase the allocation of Health-sector”>Health sector in state budget from 3% to 6.79%.

State agrees to demand of residential land distribution

After one month of farmers protest in NavaRaipur, where farmers lands were acquired to build new capital, the has agreed on six-point demands of the affected farmers.

The state government is ready to resolve the objections and Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority (NRAND) will start the process of distribution of 1200 to 2500 square feet residential land lease to the project affected-farmers as per their eligibility from March 7.

As per officials of NRAND, the Board of Directors of the Authority has accepted six major recommendations made by the Cabinet Committee constituted by chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, in the meeting held on February 25. These recommendations have been made in the view of demands made by the New Capital Project-Affected Farmers Welfare Committee. This include distribution of land lease, allotment of 1200 to 2500 square feet of residential land as per eligibility, and relaxation in the conditions of implementation of Village Development Plan for allocating government land wherever it is encroached.

Madhya Pradesh: Cow-care funds to be collected from rural households

The back-to-back incidents in gaushalas in Bhopal and Indore in a month indicate that cows remain a poll issue in the state, but when it comes to its protection, there seems to be a gap between intent and implementation.

The authorities, however, say everything is in order. MP Gaupalan and Promotion Boardworking committee chairman Swami AkhileshwaranandGiricalled them isolated incidents and said they may occur due to carelessness in a cowshed or death due to old age. Efforts are made at every level for cow protection, he said.

There are around 1,625 cowsheds in the state while the governments target is 3,000. Around 1,000 gaushalas are run bygrampanchayats and the rest by NGOs Some 2.5 lakh cows are kept in gaushalas and cow sanctuaries in the state while the number of stray cows is around 5 lakhs.

Gujarat govt expected to register 13% GSDP growth

Although the recently formed a high-level task force under former Union finance secretary Hasmukh Adhia, to prepare an action plan for corrective action to enhanceGujarats economic contribution to achieve PM Narendra Modis aim of a $5 trillion Indian economy by 2024, the statesGSDP(gross state domestic product) will have to increase its Growth rate by 25% per year.

To match this share towards the country reaching a $5trillion economy, Gujarat will have to achieve GSDP of Rs 27. 5 lakh crore from the present GSDP of Rs 16. 5 lakh crore in two years. According to budget estimates, GSDP for 2021-22 has been Rs 18. 7 lakh crore, for 22-23 it will have to be Rs 21. 3 lakh crore and Rs 24. 1 lakh crore for 23-24.

Exercise Vayu Shakti To Be Conducted At Rajasthan

Indian Air Force (I.A.F.) will conduct the Exercise Vayu Shakti, which will happen at Pokharan Home in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan

Indian Air Force (I.A.F.) will conduct the Exercise Vayu Shakti, which will happen at Pokharan home in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, on 7 March.

PM Narendra Modi will be the Chief Guest of this event. A complete 148 aircraft of the Indian Air Force (I.A.F.) will participate in this exercise.

Rafale aircraft will participate for the primary time during this exercise. Exercise Vayu Shakti is organized by Indian Air Force once every three years.

Swadesh Darshan Awards

The Awards will be given to recognize best practices like innovative approach, achievement of planned objectives, the adoption of sustainability principles in design, planning, and operations, ability to attract private investments in peripheral development, efficient project monitoring, and efforts undertaken to ensure optimal operations and maintenance, etc.

The government has approved 76 projects worth over Rs 5500 crore across 31 Indian states and union territories under this scheme. At more than 500 tourist destinations, tourism-related has been developed.

It has been decided by the Ministry to invite entries under various categories such as Best Log Hut Facility, Best Tourist Interpretation Centre, Best Cafeteria, Best MICE Facility, Best Sound and Light Show, Best Craft Haat/ Souvenir Shop facility, and Best Waterfront Development (Beach/ River/ Lake, etc.).

Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Parshottam Rupala outlined that the Sagar Parikrama initiative will be aimed at understanding challenges, experiences and aspirations of fishermen community, look at the scope of seafood exports, as well as to popularise schemes that the fishing community in coastal areas can avail of.

The department of fisheries of the Ministry of Fisheries, ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AND DAIRY and National Fisheries Development Board along with Gujarat governments department of fisheries, INDIAN COAST GUARD, Fishery Survey of India, Gujarat Maritime Board and fishermen representatives will be organising Sagar Parikrama, with the voyage being flagged off from Mandvi on March 5 and concluding at Porbandar on March 6, via Okha in Devbhoomi Dwarka.

While the programme is planned to be held in states that have a coastline, Gujarat will mark the first state as part of this initiative.

Naval exercise MILAN concludes in Visakhapatnam

Indian Navys largest multilateral exercise Milan 2022, which saw the participation of over 40 countries, ended on Friday. The sea phase of the 11th edition saw the participation of 26 ships, one submarine and 21 aircraft.

The sea phase commenced with a series of exercises to enhance the interoperability amongst the participating navies.

The exercise, held amid tensions between the West and Russia and the crisis in Ukraine, saw the warships of the Quad countries; France; Myanmar; South Korea and Vietnam and among others practice completing drills. Russia, Iran, Israel and Saudi Arabia among others are participating in the exercise without ships.
