Nod to Rs 2K Net allowance for students in Punjab

Apart from clearing a scheme of government guarantee to provide one lakh government jobs, it was also decided to provide Rs 2,000 Internet allowance to nearly 8.67 lakh students enrolled in colleges of higher, medical or technical Education across the state due to Covid-19. The will be credited to accounts of the students.

The CM said as per the government commitment, an additional 125 persons from the families of farmers who died during the farm agitation, had been given government jobs. As many as 170 were provided jobs earlier.

New sports policy to be implemented in Himachal: CM

Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that a new Sports policy would be implemented in the state to promote sports, encourage talented youth and develop the sports , which would benefit the players in a big way.

The State Government is making efforts to nurture sports talent in Himachal as well as to give importance to such activities at the village level and encourage Women participation, the Chief Minister said after inaugurating the four-day Women North Zone Inter University Kabaddi Championship at Paddal Ground in district Mandi.

About 400 girl students from 32 universities of the country are participating in the championship.

He said that this event would provide an appropriate platform to the Kabaddi players of different states and they would get an opportunity to participate in the National and Asian games.

The Chief Minister said that under Mukhyamantri Yuva Khel Protsahan Yojna, one playing field has been constructed in each assembly segment at a cost of Rs 15 lakh. Rs 1032.91 lakh have been spent under this scheme during the last four years.

He further said that to provide EMPLOYMENT to excellent sportspersons, a provision of three percent reservation has been made by the State Government, under which 220 players excelling in different sports activities were provided employment in various departments, corporations and boards.

Rs 7.39 crore have been spent on organizing various sports activities in the state during this period. Rs 76.81 crore were spent for creating modern sports infrastructure in the state and Rs 4.59 crore were spent for mobilizing additional facilities and infrastructure, he added.

Joshimath to be renamed Jyotirmath: Uttarakhand CM Puskhar Singh Dhami

Chief minister Puskhar Singh Dhami on Saturday announced his governments decision to rename Joshimath, that is considered the gateway to the shrine town of Badrinath, as ‘Jyotirmath’.

Joshimath is the winter seat of the Badrinath deity and houses one of the four maths established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century, the other three being at Sringeri, Puri and Dwarka.

UP to give Rs 1,000 maintenance allowance to 1.5 crore workers

To provide relief to the poor suffering from economic slowdown due to coronavirus pandemic,Uttar PradeshChief Minister Yogi Adityanath will provide amaintenance allowanceto the tune of Rs 1,500 crore to 1.5 crore labourers and construction workers.
The government will provide two-month allowance of Rs 1,000 to workers to tide over the financial crisis. There are 5,09,08,745 registered workers in the state out of whom, the number of unorganized workers registered on the e-SHRAM portal are 3,81,60,725. The total number of workers registered under BOCW Board are 1,27,48,020.

In the first phase, maintenance allowance will be sent to the bank accounts of nearly two crore workers, small shopkeepers, daily wage labourers, rickshaw/e-rickshaw pullers, porters, barbers, washermen, cobblers and confectioners.

Govt to develop App for availing petrol subsidy

State Chief Minister Hemant Soren on completion of two years of his Government announced to provide Rs 25 per litre subsidy to all ration card holders in the state if they buy the fuel for their two-wheelers. The scheme aims to provide monetary relief to people from BPL families who are burdened due to rising petrol prices and more than 61 lakh ration card holders in the state will be entitled to a subsidy of Rs 25 per liter per litre for their motorcycle and scooty. The beneficiaries will get the subsidy of 10 litre petrol in a month.

The scheme will start from January 26. For availing the benefit of scheme, the beneficiary has to take a slip after getting petrol in the motorcycle or scooty. Subsidy will be transferred in the bank account by uploading this slip on the app being prepared by the government.

Beneficiaries will have to register themselves on the app. Ration card details, Aadhar link bank account and vehicle registration details will have to be uploaded during registration.

Pre-budget meet: Deputy CM pitches for special central assistance to Bihar

Deputy CM TarkishorePrasadhas pressed on Centre for special assistance to the state, besides relaxation in the rules to help it raise through market borrowings for carrying out developmental activities so as to sustain the high Growth rate that has been achieved over the last 15 years.

Prasad, who is also Bihars finance minister, made the two demands at the pre-budget consultative meet with the state finance ministers for the 2022-23 convened byUnionfinance ministerNirmala Sitharamanat Delhi on Thursday. Bihar, at present, is faced with severe financial crunch, specifically from the 2021-22 financial year, Prasad pleaded.

Prasad demanded that the Centre should relax the rules for the state underFiscal Responsibility and Budget Management(FRBM) Act to have Fiscal Deficit up to 5% against the mandatory 3%, and also remove the conditions that arrest the efforts to raise money through market borrowings from financial institutions.

Mentioning the NITI Aayog report in which Bihars performance has been put below national Average and also not satisfactory compared to other states, Prasad said the state, indeed, has remained backward despite high growth rate and achievements made in the development of roads, power and other infrastructural activities and needed special central assistance.

Give impetus to green development: CM

To strengthen a green and sustainable economy, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday emphasized giving impetus to a regenerative development in the state.

He was chairing the maiden meeting of Chhattisgarh Green Council here, an official Communication said.

The Chief Minister said Chhattisgarh is one of the first states to constitute the Council.

Regenerative development is a progressive concept than . It works to increase the income of the people through livelihood under the New Age Green Economy.

It is done through proper utilization of available Resources as well as enhancing the quality of resources.

The meeting discussed branding of Chhattisgarh as a green state, market linkage of organic products, capacity building of self-help groups through training, Marketing, sustainable forest, development of medicinal, herbal and other products, inviting specialist companies to Chhattisgarh, and launching a Carbon Credit program within the state.

Development according to the characteristics of the districts and promoting economic oriented activities by connecting local residents was also discussed. The Councils vision and main activities were finalized.

Property demand at a record high in 2021

Despite battling pandemic, property sales in Indore touched a record high in the calendar year 2021 clocking a revenue of Rs 1,620 crore led by sales of residential properties and plots.

Breaking all previous records, Home buyers pushed property sales to a new high in the calendar year 2021. Sales were led by demand from user customers for residential properties.

During January-December 2021, revenue from sales of property in Indore was Rs 1,620 crore, up 42 per cent from the previous calendar year. Last year in 2020, revenue from property sales were Rs 1,140 crore, according to the official data.

CREDAI expects the property market to continue to grow in double digits in the coming year, bolstered by demand for residential properties. In the financial year 2020/21 that ended on March 31, a total of 1,07,000 properties were registered clocking revenues of Rs 1,325 crore.

Gujarats total GST collection dips 2% in December

Gujarats total collection of goods and Services tax (GST) for December 2021 declined by 2%. The states GST mop-up was Rs 7,336 in December 2021, against Rs 7,469 crore, according to data from the Union finance ministry. players attribute the decline in GST collection to reduced demand coupled with cuts in industrial production afterDiwali.

Indicating a decline in demand across sectors after the festive season surge, GST collection in Gujarat fell by 23% in December, when compared to November. In December, the states GST mop-up stood at Rs 7,336 crore, against the record-high level of Rs 9,569 crore in November 2021. Industry players say that demand came crashing owing due to high raw material prices and production being curtailed, because of which total tax collection declined.

Complete signing of MoUs for investment summit by January 15: Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot

Chief ministerAshok Gehloton Monday directed the officials to complete the signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) and letter of intent (LOI) for the Invest Rajasthan summit by January 15.

Gehlot was reviewing preparations for the summit Invest Rajasthan 2022 to be held on January 24-25 atJaipur ExhibitionandConvention Centre(JECC), Sitapura.

The CM said that theMoUsand LOIs signed till now should be implemented in a time-bound manner. He appreciated the successful signing of MoU and LOI with the investors at district level and said that the revenue department should work pro-actively in the matter of allotment of land for industries.
