Tripura seeks funds for multimodal logistics hub on Gomati bank

TheTripuragovernment has initiated a proposal with the central government seeking funds to set up a multimodal hub on the bank of river Gomati in Udaipur in the southern part of the state to boost trade with Southeast Asia via Bangladesh, said special secretary (transport), Sandeep R Rathod, here on Tuesday.
A multimodal logistics hub is essentially a freight-handling facility to improve the countrys freight logistics sector by lowering overall freight costs and time.

The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) already conducted an automated hydrographic survey to ascertain the feasibility of vessel movement on the Sonamura-Daudkandi stretch of the Gomati river was declared international Indo-Bangla Protocol Route in May 2022.

Mo Seva Kendras to help in high security plates registrations

Those, who are not familiar with the use of the Internet, can now visit their nearestMo Seva Kendra or regional transport office(RTO) to get a helping hand for online booking of high security registration plates (HSRPs) for their vehicles.

Mo Seva Kendras were opened by the government across the state to help people pay electricity, water bills and various , receive necessary certificates and avail other public Services. The development assumes significance as theOrissahigh court has been closely monitoring the online booking of HSRPs.

Tamil Nadu: ‘2nd airport at Parandur need of the hour’

The greenfield airport being planned atParanduris the need of the hour (‘kaalathin kattayam’) to take Nadu‘s economy to the next level and the government will address all the concerns raised by the locals, Industry minister Thangam Thennarasu said.

Around 300-400 acres were required to expand the existing airport, but acquiring land was not possible at the location. Karnataka Bank’s twoDigital Banking Units(DBU) has started functioning as part of the 75 DBUs of various banks dedicated to the nation by Prime MinisterNarendra Modion Sunday, commemorating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Attero to set up Rs 600 crore Li-ion battery recycling plant in Telangana

Recycling, electronic waste and Li-ion battery recycling company, today announced that it will invest Rs 600 crore to set up a Lithium-ion battery recycling factory inTelangana. The facility will be spread over 50 acres and will increase Atteros Li-Ion battery recycling capacity to 19,500 MT by the end of 2023 from its current capacity of 4,500 MT.

Attero has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) withTelangana Governmentto strengthen the li-ion battery recycling ecosystem in the country and establish a hub for Li-Ion battery recycling for its India operations. The new facility will provide direct EMPLOYMENT to over 400 people and over 1,100 indirectly.

The extracted materials are sold in the market at LME or Fast Market prices. Currently, Attero is the only company in the world to be approved by for safely reducing carbon emissions from recycling E-Waste and Li-Ion waste.

The global recycling Industry is projected to reach $22.8 billion by 2030, up from $4.6 billion currently, expanding at a CAGR of 19.6%. Andhra Pradesh: Historical sculptures of Kakatiya regime found near Tenali

Historical sculptures ofKakatiya regimewere found in neglected state at Kolakaluru village of Tenali mandal in Guntur district ofAndhra Pradesh.

After a thorough inspection of the sculptures, the four inscriptions dated 1240, 1241, 1242 and 1318 CE engraved on pillars of the Agasthyeswara temple and the southern wall of the Kesava temple which record the donation of land for the dancers and upkeep of both the temples.

Green clearance fee halved for ore beneficiation plants

Based on the ‘s advice, the Goa State Environment Impact AssessmentAuthority(Goa-SEIAA) has revised and reduced the fee to be paid for environment clearances for operating a mineral beneficiation plant. The fee has been now brought down to half of what was originally planned to be charged or less.
In the beneficiation process,iron oreis separated from the rest of the mined extract. The state government is looking to restartminingactivities in the state after they shut down followingSupreme Courtdirectives in 2018.

For more than two lakh tonne, environment clearance for the mineral beneficiation plant would cost Rs 15 lakh, but has been brought down to just Rs 7 lakh.

As per the Goa-SEIAA’s recent decision, environment clearance fee for laterite quarries has also been slightly reduced from Rs 40,000 to Rs 35,000. In the case of basalt quarries, however, the amount has been hiked from Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000.

Maharashtra govt nod for town planning schemes in Uruli Devachi, Phursungi

The has approved two town planning (TP) schemes for Uruli Devachi andPhursungi. These are the first TP schemes after a gap of nearly 40 years in Pune.

They included two schemes in Phursungi and one in Uruli Devachi. One scheme has been approved for each area.

The approved scheme in Uruli Devachi is on 110 hectares and the other at Phursungi is on 261 hectares. The administration had carried out a survey and prepared a report. Suggestions and objections were sought from citizens and hearings were conducted.

Khattar govt to bring Haryana Sikh Gurdwaras (Management) Amendment Ordinance-2022

In yet another move towards implementation of Supreme Court orders of Having Haryanas own management committee to manage the Gurudrwara affairs, the Haryana cabinet gave a go ahead to the procedure to be followed for the further course of action.

To start with Haryana will bring an ordinance for constituting the 41 member ad hoc committee to manage the affairs of Haryana Sikh Gurudrwara Management Committee (HSGMC) affairs and to complete the formalities of taking over the gurudwaras.

The Haryana Sikh Gurdwaras (Management) Act, 2004 was enacted by the State of Haryana vide notification dated July 14, 2014 with the objective to provide better autonomous management and effective supervision of Sikh Gurdwaras and Gurdwara properties in the State.

9 per cent rise in farm fires in Punjab during Sept 15-Oct 26 period compared to last year: CAQM

There has been a significant nine per cent rise in stubble burning incidents in Punjab between September 15 and October 26 this year in comparison to the corresponding period in 2021 which is a matter of concern, the Commission for Air Quality Management said on Thursday.

It said the total number of farm fires in Haryana has, however, reduced by 26 per cent as compared to last year in the same period.

In view of the spike in stubble incidents, the commission has taken up the matter with the Punjab government for effective implementation of action plan, including strategies for stubble management, the CAQM said.

As per the standard protocol developed by ISRO for CAQM, between September 15 to October 26, total paddy residue burning events reported in Punjab are 7,036 compared to 6,463 for the same period during the last year, which is a significant increase of about nine per cent.
