Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Friday directed the officers concerned to prepare a database of the unorganised labourers in the State so that they can be empowered by getting the benefits of various Government schemes.

Dushyant also issued directions regarding the registration of unorganised labourers by ensuring maximum publicity of the e-Shram portal prepared by the Central Government.

The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the charge of Labour and EMPLOYMENT Department, presided over the first meeting of ‘Haryana State Social Security Board’ at Haryana Niwas. The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Anoop Dhanak, chairman and MLA, Sugarfed, Ramkaran Kala along with various senior officers and Board members were present in the meeting.

Dushyant, who is also the chairman of ‘Haryana State Social Security Board’, said that e-Shram portal has been developed by the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment,

in which a national register of unorganized workers with Aadhaar number for the Database will be created so that the benefits of social security schemes can be extended to them.

He informed that about 2.66 lakh unorganized labourers have been registered on the e-Shram portal in the State so far, while the remaining labourers will also be encouraged to get registered on this portal.

He said that in this portal, from farm labourers to street vendors, hawkers, workers working in mandi, MGNREGA workers, self-help group workers, Anganwadi workers, mid-day meal workers, Asha workers, rickshaw drivers etc will be included. The unorganized labourers working in these sectors will be encouraged to get themselves registered, he said.

Punjab Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr Raj Kumar Verka on Friday said that under the post-matric scholarship scheme (SC), over 1.50 lakh students have been issued Freeship Cards till date and the portal will be kept open for further application under this scheme.

Dr Verka said that under the post matric Scholarship scheme for SC, a Freeship Card scheme has been introduced to ease the difficulties of students in admission in different institutions.

After obtaining the cards under this scheme, the students become eligible for admission in any educational institution under post matric scholarship. Earlier, students belonging to the SC community faced various difficulties in getting admission under the Post-Matric Scholarship scheme. With this unique scheme, the difficulties faced by the students have been largely resolved, he added. Meanwhile, on the Ministers instructions, the Department of Social opened the Ambedkar Scholarship Portal for receiving the applications for post-matric scholarships 2021-22. The educational institutions have been directed to forward complete cases of eligible SC and BC students by November 30.

The approving authority will send the proposal to the sanctioning authority on the Ambedkar Scholarship Portal by December 10. Last date for the sanctioning authority to forward the cases to the welfare department has been fixed on December 15, 2021.

New facilities at health centres in Himachal

The Health Department has introduced new diagnostic and treatment facilities such as elderly and palliative healthcare, basic oral health and screening of non-communicable diseases at Health and Wellness Centres (HCWs) across the state.

The HCWs have been established to provide healthcare Services on the doorstep of the beneficiaries under the ambit of the Ayushman Bharat. A total of 2,042 health facilities, including 1,154 health sub-centres, 418 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and 13 Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHC) have been upgraded to HWCs in the state, said a government official.

He said all HWCs have been upgraded with desktops, along with webcams, speakers and Internet to provide teleconsultation to the community through e-sanjeevani. The state has completed more than 55,000 consultations on e-sanjeevani portal.

Uttarakhand to start cave tourism’ circuit on lines of Slovenia

Taking a cue fromSlovenia, a country in central Europe known for itscave destinations,Uttarakhandis set to initiate its own cave tourismcircuit in the Gangolihat area of Pithoragarh where a Network of nineunderground caveswas discovered in September.
Scientists of Uttarakhand Space Application Centre (USAC) recently surveyed the caves situated in Mailchaura, Gupta Ganga, Sailiswar, Vrihad Tung, Mukteshwar and Daneswar areas.

The caves are tagged as part of a karst landscape, which is a landscape where of the bedrock creates Sinkholes, sinking streams, caves, springs and other such features.

As many as 6,000 children have benefited from the Bal Sewa Yojana (child service scheme) launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for children who lost either of their parents or both during the COVID-19 period (from March 2020).

Besides, 2,000 other new children have also been selected by the Women and Child Development department, and they will be given the benefits of Bal Sewa Yojana soon.

The fresh applications have started coming in the department for the child service scheme.

Prior to this scheme, hundreds of children of UP were getting direct benefit from the sponsorship scheme aimed to give dignity, self-reliance and security to the children of people living below https://exam.pscnotes.com/POVERTY-line”>Poverty Line in UP. Under this scheme, there is a provision of giving Rs 2,000 per month to single, disabled parents and orphan, destitute children of poor sections.

At the district level, the district probation officer, DPO, DCPU and Bal Kalyan Samiti are accepting the applications coming from gram panchayat, block levels and distributing the amount to the children within six months. Under this scheme, 1,026 children have been benefited in different districts of the state.

To connect the children of the needy families of the state with the mainstream of Education, the State Government had also launched Bal Shramik Vidya Yojana. Through this scheme, on the one hand, the parents are being counseled to encourage their children in the field of education, while on the other, by getting all these children enrolled in primary schools, the children of underprivileged class are getting educated.

Railways to give 50% subsidy to farmers to transport agricultural items

With the overall improvement inCovid-19pandemic situation in the country, railways has decided to give 50% subsidy to farmers to transport their perishable agricultural products outside Bihar by parcel cargo Kisan Rail air- conditioned (AC) express trains.
These special trains are running from different places falling under the jurisdiction of the East Central RAILWAY (ECR) to Maharashtra, New Delhi and other places enabling farmers to transport their agricultural products like vegetables, fruits, flowers, fish, meat, milk and other products outside the state.

According to the CPRO, railways is charging Rs 404 per quintal for booking vegetables and fruits from Muzaffarpur to Devlali. But it is hardly Rs 212 per quintal after giving 50 per cent subsidy. “Similarly railways charge Rs 205 per quintal between Danapur and Devlali, Rs 205 per quintal between Muzaffarpur and Manmad and Rs 144 per quintal betweenPatnaand New Delhi and Rs 65 per quintal between Patna and Howrah on vegetables and fruits only, he said.

These parcel cargo Kisan Rail trains are running with the load combination of at least 11 parcel vans which include frozen containers. Railways has fixed tariff for each item per ton freight loading based on the distance.

Colourful stage set for National Tribal Dance Festival

Chhattisgarhis all set to host the second edition of the National Tribal Dance Festival to promote, preserve, and provide a platform to showcase the rich, vibrant and state’s unique tribal culture and cultural exchange among indeginous people coming from across the country and abroad.

As many as 59 tribal dancers from 27 states and six union territories of the country and seven countries will showcase their unique dance forms and diverse tribal culture in the fest beginning on Thursday. Around 1,000 artists will be part of these dance troupes, of which 63 will be foreign artists from Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Swaziland, Nigeria, Palestine, Male, and Uganda.

Chhattisgarh is said to be the first state of the country to organize this biggest tribal dance festival with a large congregation of tribal artists from the whole country and abroad.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bhopal and Indian Institute of Science for Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal signed a Memorandum of agreement for five years. The ceremony was conducted at AIIMS Bhopal and was attended. Both the premiere Government Institutes of Bhopal will conduct cooperative research in field of public health, metagenomics, cancer epidemiology and treatment by sharing clinical specimens and technology for analysing the samples.

Both the Institutes will jointly organise seminars, workshops, conferences, faculty and student exchange. The ceremony was conducted at Aiims Bhopal and was attended by Prof. Sarman Singh, Director AIIMS Bhopal, Prof. Siva Umapathy, Director IISER Bhopal, Dean of both the Institutes and the Faculty Members. Prof. Singh and Prof. Umapathy look forward to the collaboration to perform translational research that will benefit the patient care in Madhya Pradesh.

The MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) will pave way to form a translational research cluster with other research Institutes in Madhya Pradesh. Prof. Arneet Arora, Head of Forensic Medicine and Dr Biswas, Dean Research expressed how the interdisciplinary research between the two Institutes has progressed over years and will lead to important discoveries. The MoU will further help accelerate this process of discovery.

Cooperatives key to making India a $ 5trillion economy

Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had created the ministry of cooperation with the motto of prosperity with cooperation, union Home and cooperatives minister Amit Shah said that the cooperative sector will play a major role in India becoming a US $ 5 trillion economy.

Shah said that a lot of changes are required in the cooperative sector and said, A charter for the newly formed ministry is being prepared with the core idea of sahakaar se samruddhi (cooperation to wealth).

Shah launched an automated cheese warehouse at Khatraj, Amuls organic biofertilizer, souvenir, stamp and envelope marking 75 years of Amul and inaugurated newly constructed auditorium. He also launched the Sahakar scheme of the National Cooperative Development Corporation with Rs 5,000 crore allocation.
