Every part of North East will be connected with 4G: Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Union MinisterRajeev Chandrasekhar said the entire northeast will have 4G connectivity and every part ofNagalandwill get access to internet.

Chandrasekhar, the Union minister of state for electronics and information technology, announced this during a press conference held inDimapuron Tuesday, the last day of his three-day visit to Nagaland.

The union minister said Nagaland and the entire northeast will have minimum of 4G connectivity as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modis vision of connecting all Indians, with an approach that No one is left behind.

Assam govt merges elementary, secondary education depts.

TheAssam governmenthas decided to create a newschool education departmentby merging two existing ones, an official notification said. Theelementary and secondary educationdepartments are being merged to form the new one, it said.

Consequent to the merger, all officers and staff of the two departments will come under the administrative control of the school education department.

All existing directorates and organisations of the two departments will be under the administrative control of the school education.

Report highlights Odisha courts’ digital change in 2021

TheOrissahigh court has claimed 2021 to be a year of transformation “in more ways than one” for the judicial administration in the state when innovations and technological strides were made to make things more transparent and accessible to the people.

The claim was made in theannual reportof the high court which was published after a gap of six years. The high court’s Annual Report-2021 was released on the opening day of the three-day district judges’ conference.

The annual report said the year saw functioning of 60 new courts in various districts with 22 more set to becoming functional with infrastructure to accommodate courts and officers’ residence. The year also saw the completion in construction of 14 court complexes with provision for 102 courts. Out of them, 6 were district court complexes at Bhawanipatna, Nabarangpur, Jeypore, Sonepur, Malkangiri and Bhadrak.

CM MK Stalin launches Green Tamil Nadu Mission

The GreenTamil NaduMission, aimed at increasing the state’s green cover from 23.7% to 33% in 10 years, was launched by chief minister M K Stalin at Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Vandalur.

About 500 saplings of ten indigenous species were planted and later another 1000 will be planted at Vandalur zoo’s parking area.

State forest minister, K Ramachandran stated that planting more trees is an important way to quickly control the natural hazards caused by climate change, so Tamil Nadu is planning to cover 12,000 sq km in the next 10 years through the Green Movement. And only indigenous species will be used.

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan to declare Pullampara as digitally literate panchayat

With the objective of making citizens digitally literate,Pullampara panchayats DigiPullampara project has successfully accomplished its well-charted goal.
The panchayat is all set for the official declaration which will be done by chief ministerPinarayi Vijayanon September 21. The success of the project owes to its detailed planning under the leadership of a core team comprising five members.

The trainers who taught different modules were students from five different engineering colleges in the city.

The highlight of the project is that officials did not stop with the teaching phase. Each participant had to then go through an evaluation process led by the students of Balaramapuram Trinity College.

K’taka asks education dept to submit report on madrasas’ activities: Sources

TheKarnataka governmenton Friday directed the education department to submit a report on the activities of madrasas in the state, stirring a controversy.

The education department has taken up the exercise amid the demands to ban madrasas in the state by Hindu organisations, according to the sources.
It has been alleged that suspicious activities are going on in madrasas.

The government has asked the department to submit report about 960 madrasas in the state.

Telangana reaps rich haul in Swachh Survekshan

Telanganareaped a rich haul of awards in Swachh Survekshan Awards-2022, which were announced on Saturday. As many as 16 municipalities in the state bagged national awards, four more than last year’s 12 awards in the same categories.

The awards will be presented atSwachh Mahotsavin Delhi on October 1. The prestigious awards were announced by the Union ministry of housing and urban affairs.

The selection was taken up as part of national-level sanitation challenge and national competitions such as garbage-free city rating for the period July 2021 to January 2022, Safaimitra Suraksha challenge and solid waste management on overall sanitation improvement and enhanced citizen awareness and engagement towards waste management across 4,355 cities and towns in the country.

Apart from the awards, of the 142 urban local bodies and municipalities, 70 have been recognised as ODF+ and another 40 asODF++. Of the rest, one got water + and 31 were declared open defecation-free.

Jagan launches portal for marriage schemes

Chief minister YSJagan MohanReddy launched the website ofYSR KalyanamasthuandShadi Tofaschemes which are aimed at providing financial assistance for daughters wedding in poor families.

He said they have made SSC pass a mandatory clause for both bride and groom to get the assistance under Kalyanamasthu and Shadi Tofa with an intension to encourage parents to see that their children complete at least high school studies. He said that the scheme would also prevent the child marriages and promote girl education.

He said since the marriage age for girls is 18 and boys is 21, they would surely complete intermediate after finishing high school instead of sitting ideal at home.

Goa govt urged to crap amendments to land development regulations

Goyche Fudle Pilge Khatir, an organisation committed to securing safety of Goas future generations, at an awareness meeting organised by it at Margao on Saturday over the draft amendments made to the Goa Land Development and Building Construction Regulations 2010, called upon the government to scrap the draft amendments to save Goa from imminent destruction.

Maharashtra: Govt departments start receiving Unique Land Parcel Identification Number data

A unique 11-digit number has been attributed to all land parcels in the urban and rural areas of the state with effect from September 19, and data is now being shared with different government departments to prevent fraudulent land transactions.

Commonly called ‘Aadhaarfor land’, the state has readied theUnique Land Parcel Identification Number(ULPIN) for some 3crore documents – 2.62crore 7×12 extracts, and 70lakh property cards in the state.

Along with ULPIN, there are unique numbers for all 44,505 revenue villages in the state.
