The Education department has started a survey in nine districts ofRajasthanto identify the mother tongue for students between Class 1 and 5, said officials on Friday. The survey is being conducted in Jaipur, Pali and Sirohi districts as well as six other districts of theUdaipurdivision.
According to the guidelines of National Education Policy (NEP), the books will be written in students mother tongue and that will be the mode of education followed in classrooms.
For implementation of NEP in Rajasthan, a steering committee has already been formed and one meeting has been held and district monitoring committees have also been made and with meetings being conducted every three months under the chairpersonship of the district collector.
