In the competitive bidding for 1,000-MW solar power projects conducted byRajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd(RUVNL), the -owned company received tariffs of Rs 2.61 per unit. The rates were lower than the Rs 2.73 that theGujarat Urja Vikasgot for its 600-MW projects in the e-reverse auction process.
While solar power developers said RUVNL did well to pull off the auction without doing it throughSolar Corporation of India, there are challenges in getting evacuation approvals.
In fact, there were more than half-a-dozen proposals for evacuation approval that is pending withRajasthan Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd(RVPN) for a long time. Solar developers said the winners of the auction should not face evacuation issues.
