State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon presented the first supplementary budget of the on-going financial year in the tune of Rs 4,684.93 crore on the second day of the monsoon session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. The Finance Minister introduced it amid huge uproar. At the same time, after its presentation, the proceedings of the Assembly were adjourned till 2 pm.

The proceedings of the Assembly were adjourned for the second time in a row. As soon as the proceedings began, an for the members was presented on behalf of the Speaker, Rabindra Nath Mahto. In this, a discussion was demanded on the amendment in the recruitment policy on behalf of the BJP leaders, while the CPI ML MLA Vinod Singh demanded a discussion on large scale vacancies in the various departments.

The Speaker amidst uproar by Opposition members rejected the work Adjournment Motion alonting second half of proceedings for discussion. The BJP furious over this once again started creating ruckus entering the well of the House, later the Speaker adjourned the House.

As per the supplementary budget placed in the House, department wise the maximum allotment has been made to Home, Jail and Disaster Management department. The department has been allotted Rs 33,732.39 lakh, followed by the rural development department receiving Rs 28,434.65 lakh.

The department of drinking water and sanitation department has received Rs 17,216.00 lakh, department of Women child development and social security department getting Rs 17,331.78 lakh. The Panchayati Raj department has received Rs 4,609.20 lakh.

The department of scheduled tribe, Scheduled Caste, minority and backward class welfare department has received Rs 4,604.59 lakh.
