State Board for Wildlife formed in Gujarat after 15 months

TheGujarat governmentafter over a year has finally constituted the 27-memberState Board for Wildlife(SBWL).

The board will be headed by the chief minister and will have former forest officials as expert.

Sources in the department said that the term of the last board had ended in December 21 but later it was extended for three months and the last meeting of the SBWL was held on March

The board will have three representatives from non-government organizations which include director, GEER Foundation, Gandhinagar, member secretary,GujaratEcology Commission (GEC), and representative of Nature Club, Surat.
