Soon, all the phirnis a thoroughfare around the village in Haryanas villages will be covered with a network of CCTV cameras and lights. Announcing this, the states Development and Panchayats Minister Devender Singh Babli on Sunday said that lights and CCTV cameras will be installed on the phirnis of all the villages across the State.

The gram panchayats should pass proposals for the development of villages and send them to the department. Even if the development works ranging from Re one to Rs 100 crore in villages are done through e-tender, all of them will be under the supervision of the sarpanches, said Babli, adding that the gram panchayats should come forward to make the villages neat and clean.

The Minister said that the Women have been given 50 percent reservation in the panchayats of the state, which is an example of women Empowerment given by the Haryana Government. Educated panchayats have been formed in the state under the State Governments far-reaching vision in which a lot of participation of the youth has come to the fore, added Babli.

He said that the is also determined for the cleanliness of the villages. Lights and CCTV cameras will be installed on the phirni of the villages. In the first phase, out of three lakh kilometres of phirni across the state, work will be done on one lakh kilometres, he said, adding that the Government has also started the work under the greywater management to tackle the problem of waterlogging in 1,000 villages out of the 3,500 identified waterlogged villages.

An amount of Rs 18,000 crore will be spent by the Government to overcome the problem of water-logging.
