Rs 2926.12cr Supplementary Budget passed in House

The Supplementary Budget of Rs 2926.12 crore was passed in the House with Opposition BJP staging walkout from the House protesting against the bungling in Jharkhand Commission (Jpsc) PT results.

Despite BJP staging a walkout the Supplementary Budget was passed by voice vote. On Friday, the Finance Minister Rameshwar Oroan, had tabled the Supplementary Budget and as per the rule the discussion in the house over the budget was slated today post lunch, but the BJP members staged a walkout from the House. As per the budgetary allocation, the highest provision of Rs 620 crore has been made in the pension head.

It is followed by allocation of Rs 588 crore for the Energy Department, Rs 518 crore for Health Department, Rs 231 crore for Resources“>Water Resources Department, Rs 208 crore for Home Prison and Disaster Management Department, Rs 172 crore for Higher and Technical Education Department. A provision of Rs 188 crore has been made for the Department of Women and Child Development.

The BJP has been demanding a CBI probe into the matter of bungling in JPPC PT and dismissal of its chairman Amitabh Choudhary. Apart from BJP, independent MLA including Saryu Roy and CPI(ML) candidate Vinod Kumar Singh too are in favour of a probe into JPSC exam results. The JMM legislators Lobin Hembrom and Stephen Marandi had also pointed out irregularities in the JPSC PT.

The State Government, which is trying to save its face over JPSC exam results, today faced another setback as Congress MLA from Poraiyahat Pradeep Yadav today cornered the government on the issue of PoS machines being used at PDS shops across the state and alleged that the government paid Rs 250 crores as rent for the PoS machine which cost hardly Rs 78 crores.

Terming it a wasteful expenditure he said that what is the need of allowing such a PoS machine which is 2G and at many places shop owners have to climb in trees or hills to get connectivity. He was of the opinion that a new vendor be searched for the service instead of allowing the old one whose charge is unreasonable.
