Recidivism (the tendency of a criminal to reoffend) in Andhra Pradesh accounts for 6.1% of cases among persons arrested under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), placing the state second in southern India after Telangana in 2020, as per data from the latest NationalCrimeRecords Bureau (NCRB) report.

juveniles, were apprehended under IPC offences in Andhra Pradesh in 2020. Of the arrests, 1,18,258 adults were arrested for the first time, 885 adults had a record of previous conviction whereas 6,768 people were arrested but not convicted in the past.
