Rajasthans expenditure under theNational Mission(NFSM), a centrally sponsored scheme launched in 2007-08, has gone down over the years. From Rs 156.94 crore in 2017-18, it has slumped to Rs 85.73 crore in 2021-2022, according to data shared by the central government.
NFSM was launched with the objective of increasing production of foodgrains through area expansion and productivity enhancement in the identified districts of the country.
As per the central government data, Rajasthan governments expenditure under the mission was Rs 95.39 crore in 2018-19, Rs 103.62 crore in 2019-20, and Rs 121.85 crore in 2020-21. But the allocations under the scheme were Rs 190.76 in 2017-18, Rs 188.82 crore in 2018-19, Rs 245.57 crore in 2019-20, Rs 230.96 crore in 2020-21 and Rs 199.6 crore in 2021-22.
