Rajasthan institutes fail to make a mark in national rankings

Rajasthanhas one of the highest numbers of government colleges and universities in the country, but none of them were able to get a place in top 100 of the NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) ranking, 2021 released by the Union ministry of Education.

Fresh investments made by the in opening 113 new colleges seem to have fallen flat as none of the existing state government institute made it to the top 100.

Among the top 100 institutes BITS-Pilani, Banasthali Vidyapith and MNIT Jaipur were ranked 29, 66 and 72, respectively. WhileBITS-Pilaniand Banasthali Vidyapith are private organisations, MNIT-Jaipur is a central government institution. Similarly,IIT-Jodhpur,National Law University-JodhpurandAIIMS-Jodhpur, which have bagged ranks in the top 100 in various categories, are all governed by the central government.

Only Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, which is run by the state government, managed to get a place in top 200 of NIRF in overall category and its pharmacy institute managed the 67th rank. The biggest institute of the state Rajasthan University failed to earn a rank this year.
