In an executive committee meeting of theState Water and Sanitation Mission, the government has sanctioned more than Rs 15 crore for works related toJal Jeevan MissioninRajasthanfor this fiscal.
In the meeting, it was planned to provide 26.40 lakh water connections this financial year and another 23.40 new connections in the next.
In the meeting chaired by additional chief secretary Subodh Agarwal it was announced that the National Jal Jeevan Mission has approved Rs 474.06 crores for support activities. Accordingly, has approved District Action Plans (DAP) for all the 33 districts of the state.
So, far the state government has spent Rs 14,579 crore under the JJM and, till April 26, has provided connections to 40.44 lakhs connections to rural Rajasthan under the Har Ghar Jal scheme.
In the previous fiscal, Hanumangarh has topped the list ofJJM connections, where 59% connection had already been provided. While Banswara was the least performing district with only 14% connections so far.
