While exports from Punjab increased three times from US$ 1,830 million in 2018-19 to US$ 7,096 million in 2021-22, the state still logged the lowest increase in the region — comprising Punjab,HaryanaandHimachal Pradesh— in the last four years, as per a report by the SBI research team.
The report says that Haryanas exports saw a four-fold rise from US$ 3,750 million to US$ 15,550 million and HPs exports went up five times from US$ 395 million to US$ 2,147 million.
The report further emphasises that following the introduction of one district-one product -district export hub (ODOP-DEH) initiative in 2020, exports have increased more than thrice in 16 states, including Punjab, Haryana and HP. The Services identified for Export Promotion under ODOP-DEH include tourism and information technology in Punjab and tourism in Haryana as well as Himachal Pradesh.
