Prime MinisterNarendra Modiwho inaugurated the KashiTamilSangamam at Amphitheater Ground of BHU on Saturday honoured Aadhinams (Dharmacharyas) of significant Nadutemples and maths.
The nine Aadhinams from Tamil Nadu honoured by the PM include AadhinamSrimad ManikkavachakTambiran of Dharmapuram, AadhinamSwami Sivakar Desikarof Suryanar, Aadhinam Srilasri Satya Gyan Mahadeva Desika Paramacharya Swamigal of Senkol, Aadhinam Sivaprakash Desika Satya Gyan Pandar Sannadi of Senkol, Aadhinam Sri Sivagnana Balaya Swamigal of Bommapuram, Adhinam Sri Gyanprakash Desikar of Tulavoor, Adhinam Sri Shivalingeshwara Swamy Kandaswamy of Kamakshipuri, Adhinam Sri Mayakrishnan Swamy Dindukkal of Sivapuram and Adhinam Sri Muthu Sivaramaswamy of Palladam Sanjeri.
The PM also released the religious book Tirukkural written in Tamil language and books on Kasi-Tamil culture on the occasion. He also interacted with 210 students from Tamil Nadu. Artists from South India including Tamil Nadu presented three programmes. An attractive presentation of music and cultural programs was presented by renowned musician Ilaiyaraaja. Earlier, in his address at the inaugural ceremony, Ilaiyaraaja referred to the age-old ties between Kashi and Tamil.
