Thermocol and plastic related items will be banned from July 1. The State Pollution Control Board ordered this and said that action will be taken for violating the rules.
The board has already given instructions to the state for this and restrictions will also be imposed in Jharkhand. The State Pollution Control Board Chairman, AK Rastogi gave this information during a meeting with representatives of the apex traders body of the State Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) on Wednesday.
This decision will heavily affect the common man because plastic and thermocol has become an integral part of every bodys life. Preventing complete use of these items will not be easy. Thermocol plates are most common in current time because mostly the street food vendors use it and they will get highly affected by it. It may be mentioned here that both the items banned by the Board are very harmful because the takes a very long time to get destroyed.
In the course of the talks, Rastogi also said that it is mandatory for all categories of hotels to obtain Consent to operate from the Pollution Control Board within two months, otherwise, action will be taken against the hotel operators. This provision also applies to all clubs and banquet halls, convention centres, hospitals and educational institutions where the waste water of the above capacity is generated, he added.
