Bihar CMNitish Kumar asked the officials of the department of Environment, forest and https://exam.pscnotes.com/Climate-change”>Climate Change (DoEFCC) to properly execute the work-plan of planting 433.93 lakh saplings in the current financial year (2023-24) with an aim to increase the states total green cover to 17% from the existing 15%.
Director (Forestry“>Social Forestry) C P Khanduja, through a presentation, informed the CM that the department has fixed a target of planting a total of 433.93 lakh saplings under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan in FY 2023-24. Khanduja also informed the CM about the plantation works executed in the past four financial years from FY 2019-20 to 2022-23 in Bihar.
While reviewing the works of the DoEFCC, the CM asked the officials to properly execute whatever work-plan they have prepared for plantation in FY 2023-24.
