Maharashtra is the country’s top sugar producer. The state had produced 138 lakh tonne of sugar last year-the highest ever in its HISTORY. However, production in 2022-23 is expected to fall to 129 lakh tonne.

24 last year. As per the letter, the recruitment will be done through the CET and there will be no post in Group-C of sports quota. To eliminate the sports quota indirectly, it was limited only to three departments. They demanded that the 3% quota should be implemented in all departments.

Central University of Himachal Pradesh signs MoU with US institute

Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP), Dharamsala, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indiana University, Pennsylvania (IUP), USA. The PARTNERSHIP will focus on academic and research collaboration between the two universities.

Professor Bansal added the universities would make efforts to identify and develop courses at undergraduate and post-graduate level wherein credit sharing could be possible.

Uttarakhand has immense contribution towards national security: Rajnath Singh

Union minister of DEFENCERajnath Singhinaugurated the newly developed Shaurya Sthal war memorial in Cheedhbagh area of Dehradun cantonment.

Singh was accompanied byUttarakhandchief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan while laying wreath at the war memorial, which is a tribute to the valour of over 2,330 armed forces personnel hailing from Uttarakhand who made the supreme sacrifice for the country. It was initially developed by Uttarakhand War Memorial Trust which under an MoU handed over its control to the Army last December.

Water availability to double in 25 years

State water supply minister Kunvarji Bavaliya said that the per capita water availability in the state will be doubled in the next 25 years. Bavaliya said the present per capita availability of water in Gujarat is 850 cubic metres, which will be increased to 1,700 cubic metres by 2047.

Target to facilitate education of 9 lakh adolescent girls: J’khand Govt

TheJharkhand government said it aims at facilitating the Education of nine lakh adolescent girls in the state under theSavitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana(SPKSY). The welfare programme was launched by Chief MinisterHemant Sorenin October last year from Giridih along with the ‘Aapki Yojana Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ campaign, an initiative to take the benefits of various government schemes at the doorsteps of villagers.

“The Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana is an effort of the to facilitate the education of adolescent girls and a step towards Women Empowerment and gender Justice…Nine lakh adolescent girls of the state shall be covered by this scheme,” a statement issued by the government said.

Under the ‘Aapki Yojana’ campaign, which went on for a month, three lakh adolescent girls were linked to

the scheme.

State to set up migrant help centre in Guj

The will set up a migrant labour assistance centre at Surat in Gujarat.

The assistance centre will help migrant labourers from the state to seek redressal of various grievances and issues and ensure their safety and welfare at their workplaces, officials said. The government approved the proposed centre in Surat in October. The centre will be similar to existing facilities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
