Punjabs sex ratio has improved considerably from 888 in 2016-17 to 919 in 2020-21. Giving the credit to the state Health and Family Welfare Department, the Minister in-charge Balbir Singh Sidhu on Tuesday said that the increase was due to stringent implementation of the Pre-conception and Pre-natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act 1994 Act.

The information was shared during the meeting of State Supervisory Board, consisting of 22 members, under the chairmanship of Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu.

Stating about the importance of the first Ante Natal Checkup (ANC), the Minister stressed on the need to carry out first ANC as soon as possible or within the first trimester so that any misdemeanour can be tracked by the ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) worker and consequently by the senior health officials.

The Uttarakhand Transport Department is preparing to commence the online application process to issue green cards to the commercial drivers for Char Dham Yatra. The department has already prepared new software to provide this online service and even successfully completed the trial run about two months ago.

Though the has allowed Char Dham Yatra for locals of three districts which are Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and Chamoli from July 1 and for others in the State from July 11, the transport department has not commenced the application process for green cards. Responding to this, Transport secretary Ranjit Kumar Sinha said that the

department is preparing to start the online application system for green cards but its starting date is not fixed.

UP govt to come with mobile app for madrasa students

TheUttar Pradeshgovernment has announced that it will develop a new mobile application for the Madrasa Board for TEACHING and other activities related to the madrasas in the state.

Over 2.5 lakh students of the UP Madrasa Board will now study through the mobile application from the new session.

The Board will make all possible efforts and arrangements so that students can do their studies on the mobile app from the new session.

The/Nudge Centre for Rural Development is set to invest Rs 200 crore to support rural livelihoods and to help poor households access Government programs, subsidies, schemes, and private sector investment. Called Asha Kiran – the Hope Project, this initiative is supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation, the Skoll Foundation, Hindustan Unilever Foundation, FICCI-Aditya Birla CSR Centre for Excellence, HT Parekh Foundation, Godrej, RBL Bank, and KPMG among others.

Bihars ganja, charas consumption much below national average: NCB

The Percentage Population consuming gang and charas in the state is much below the national Average but, of late, it is showing a rising trend, as per theNarcotics Control Bureaufigures.

The national average

is 1.2% of the population, which consumes ganja and charas as per a study of the ministry of social and Empowerment in 2019. Bihars average that time was 1.1%. But it has been observed later that there has been a rising trend.

As per the NCB data, drug abuse and trafficking has increased since 2020 Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown, but it has also created unprecedented public awareness about Health and measures for staying healthy and protecting each other.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel wants the private sector to cooperate in further strengthening of health facilities in rural areas.

Baghel said the private sector’s help will be taken to make available specialist doctors in rural areas, expand Health Services in Government hospitals and to develop the health .

The Government will grant subsidies to the private sector especially for construction of hospitals in rural areas.

The Industries Department has been told to prepare an action plan within 10 days.

The Government has taken a number of steps to improve and enhance health services in rural areas but the availability of specialist doctors in small district headquarters and block headquarters remains a challenge.

Madhya Pradesh: Jabalpur is third best performer in India, bags two awards

Jabalpurhas bagged two Awards under theSmart Citiesmissions India Smart Cities Awards Contest (ISAC) 2020.

In the best performing cities category, Jabalpur is awarded 3rd position, whereas Indore ranks first. And apart from the overall performance, it ranks 7th in

data assessment and usage in city planning.

Gujarat: Residential schools in PPP mode mulled

TheGujaratgovernment plans to start a new scheme to found modern residentialschoolsin PPP(public private PARTNERSHIP) mode, in which selected promising children can study and the government will fund such schools on a per child basis. The state Education department has prepared a draft scheme to promote competitiveresidential schoolswhich can provide a good education to students from humble backgrounds studying in government schools.

The government expects to set up around 100 new PPP model residential schools. Each is expected to have 15 to 20 acres of land. The government aims to select the best students from tribal and backward areas and provide them competitive education and opportunities in civil Services, medical education, IITs and other opportunities.

Private sector developing 73 oxygen plants in Rajasthan

Corporates inRajasthanhave committed to set up 73oxygenplants at government hospitals through donations andCSRfunds out of which four have become operational by the end of May.

While 27 of them are under various stages of development by the donated funds, the rest are getting implemented under the companies CSR activities.

During peak of the second wave, local industries had supplied more than 3,000 cylinders of Oxygen on daily basis.

Transportation of the medical oxygen had emerged as a major challenge following sudden increase in demand. The industries department under the Oxygen Management Group traced and acquired nearly 26,000 industrial oxygen cylinders.

Similarly, Shree Cement from itsPaliunit supplied 250 filled oxygen cylinders. SRK Oxygen

plant in Chittorgarh was revived for generation 700 cylinders a day. Salasar Gases in Kishangarh, an old and closed LMO plant, was made functional for producing 600 cylinders a day.
