Unmesh: Himachal Pradesh International literary festival

A three-day international literary festival called Unmesh was held at Gaiety Theatre in Shimla. It was officially started, on June 16, 2022; by Union Minister of State for Culture, Arjun Ram Mehjawal.

Unmesh Festival is bringing together around 425 writers, poets, critics, translators, and notable figures from 15 countries, representing more than 60 languages.

During the festival, more than 1,000 books relevant to the civil rights movement have been put on display.

Unmesh is a celebration of expression. This festival is Indias largest international literary festival till date.

The Unmesh Festival is being organised by Union Ministry of Culture and , in association with the Department of Art and Culture of Himachal Pradesh government. It is being organised as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Economic survey 2021-22 estimates increase of nearly 6% in growth rate

TheUttarakhandgovernment tabled the Economic Survey 2021-22 report in the state assembly on Friday. According to the provisional estimate for Growth rate in 2020-21, an increase of – 4.42 per cent has been estimated; while it is estimated to increase by 6.13 per cent in 2021-22.

In 2020-21, the state’s Gross Domestic Product has been estimated at Rs 2,34,660 crore at the prevailing prices of the provisional estimates. In comparison, it has been estimated to be Rs 2,53,832 crore in 2021-22. On the other hand, the per capita income (provisional) of

the state in 2020-21 is estimated at Rs 1,82,698, and at Rs 1,96,282 in 2021-22. Gross Domestic Product (provisional) at constant prices (2011-12) has been estimated at Rs 1,78,912 crore in 2020-21, which has been estimated to increase to Rs 1,89,882 crore in 2021-22, which is 6.13 per cent of that of the previous year. Analysing the growth rate of the states GDP in 2021-22, lower growth rates have been seen in construction (11.61 per cent), transportation, storage, Communication and broadcasting Services (11.60 per cent), real estate, housing ownership and commercial services (10.50 per cent), other sectors (10.13 per cent), the financial sector (4 per cent) and electricity, gas, water and other utility services (2.98 per cent).

Uttar Pradesh Government decided to give incentives for setting units in first medical device park of states.

This unit has been proposed on 350-acre of land in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).

Government also decided to implement Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Kisan Samridhi Yojana in state till 2026-27.

The units

will be set up in park, for which government would provide incentives in terms of capital interest subsidy, relaxation in SGST, freight incentives, patent filing fee, air cargo handling charge, stamp duty exemption, quality certification land lease rate, and Marketing assistance, etc.

State signs MoU with AAI

The on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) withAirports Authority of India(AAI) for transferring 303.62 acres of land for expansion ofBirsa Munda International Airport.

The MoU was signed by deputy secretary of state civil aviation departmentAkhilesh Kumar SinhaandBirsa Munda Internationalairport directorK L Agarwal. As per MoU, the state will transfer 301.12 acres of land to the AAI in the fPhase I of the city airport expansion and around 2.5 acres in the second phase.

Bihar govt to launch clean air action plan soon

With a view to protecting the people ofBiharfrom the Health hazards of ever-rising Air Pollution, the is likely to launch a state-levelclean air action planwith the technical support from theWorld Bank. A detailed road map for the implementation of Bihar Clean Air Action Plan is in progress.

The Bihar State Pollution Control Board (BSPCB)s chairmanAshok Kumar Ghoshpointed out that one round of discussion with the World Bank team on this plan has already been held and the team is likely to finalise this plan soon. The Planning Commission has also sanctioned funds for the provision of clean air to the people of the state.

The state-level clean air action plan would be multi-spectral in nature, envisaging medium to long-term targets for cleaning the polluted air. The entire Indo-Gangetic plain has been marked as an area of increased air pollution due to higher concentration of PM2.5 matter in the Atmosphere.

Aiming to give an impetus to tourism and economic activities in the state,Gujaratgovernment has proposed a new 1,630-kilometre coastal corridor from Umeragm in the south to Narayan Sarovar in Kutch. To be completed under PM GatiShakti scheme, the government proposes to set aside a buffer area along the highway for industrial and allied activities. The government has already earmarked the first 300 km covering Valsad, Navsari, Surat and Bharuch districts.

The has already earmarked the first 300 kilometres of the project covering the districts of Valsad, Navsari, Surat and Bharuch in south Gujarat. A key source close to the development confirmed that the state government

has proposed a new coastal corridor highway under the PM Gati Shakti project.

Under the PM Gati Shakti project, a detailed plan has been prepared for first 300km stretch. Sources said that the entire corridor is being planned keeping in mind the CRZ (Coastal Regulation Zone) restrictions, forest regulations and the like.
