Chhattisgarh Herbals: Five quality test labs set up in state to ensure quality

Five quality testing laboratories have been set up inChhattisgarhunder the states indigenous brand Chhattisgarh Herbals to ensure good quality standards of the products.
These laboratories have been established at the forest circle level in Raipur, Ambikapur, Jagdalpur,Kanker, andBilaspur. An official release said that these laboratories will be operated by Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce (Trading and Development) Co-operativeFederation Limited.

According to the prescribed protocol, testing of 65 minor forest produce, and 59 medicinal, 46 edible, seven cosmetics, and 22 other products will be done in the laboratory. The testing will include all the district unions andVan Dhan Vikas Kendrasfalling under the respective forest circle.
Members of nearly 8,011 self-help groups (SHG) are engaged in the work of processing minor forest produce across the state. Products worth 6.38 crores were sold in the year 2021-22.

PM Gati Shakti is an effective tool for planning and implementation: Chouhan

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that PM Gati Shakti is an effective tool for planning and execution. Its effective use will ensure better and economical implementation of schemes along with saving time.

Orientation through PM Gati Shakti of officers-employees up to the field level should be ensured in the state. If there is a need to add any information or data related to the state in PM Gati Shakti, its fulfillment should be ensured within the time frame. The development of the state should not be affected under any circumstances.

Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the review meeting of PM Gati Shakti Madhya Pradesh at his residence office. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bais, Additional Chief Secretary General Administration Vinod Kumar, Principal Secretary Industrial Policy and Promotion Sanjay Shukla, Principal Secretary Science and Technology Shri Amit Rathore, Managing Director Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation Limited Nand Kumaram and other officers were present.

PM Gati Shakti will develop a system for strengthening and better coordination of overall Infrastructure, including Roads, Resources“>Water Resources, Energy, Industry, Urban Development and Housing and Food and Civil Supplies departments. 27 officers from different departments of the state attended the training held at Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Application and Geo Informatics, Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat. They will conduct capacity development activities at various levels in the state. The Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Department is the nodal department of PM Gati Shakti in the state.

Gujarat govt approves project in private residential societies through public partnership

TheGujaratgovernment gave in-principle approval to allot Rs 5.62 crore to three municipalities of under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.

The government has allotted the fund to carry out various works in residential private societies through public PARTNERSHIP.

The proposal was sent to the chief ministerBhupendra Patelby the Gujarat Municipal Finance Board.

The CM sanctioned Rs 5.07 crore for 51 works through public partnership in private Society of Karjan . These 51 works include CC road and paver block works. A total of 51 families will be benefited through these works.

The chief minister has given in-principle approval for 4 works of laying paver blocks through public partnership in Modasa Municipality at the cost of Rs. 30, 37,474 which will benefit 279 families.

Under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, public partnership scheme, the State Government, society and local body will bear 70:20:10 of the total cost respectively.

The minister said tourism sector is one of the largest employers and its Growth is key for the economy of Rajasthan. Addressing the tourism Fraternity, principal secretary (tourism) Gayatri Rathore said MoUs and LoIs amounting to Rs 11,906 crore for 363 projects, which will generate jobs for 57,138 persons, were signed during the Invest Rajasthan Roadshows .

The objective of RDTM is to promote tourism which is critical in current times given that foreign tourist movement is yet to pick up speed.

Tripura-made bamboo carpets roll out on new Parliament building floor

Tripura-madebamboo matshave been used for construction of thenew Parliament building, scheduled to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

TripuraCMManik Saha, holding the portfolio of forest department, reached New Delhi to take part in the opening ceremony.
According to officials here, a private enterprise working in the bamboo sector and manufacturing of value-added products, supplied the bamboo-made carpet mats for construction of the Parliament floor.

The artists from Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, have installed bamboo carpets with decorations. And the work of stone carving has been done in Rajasthan, the officials added. Besides, bamboo materials from Tripura, significant others construction materials from different states of the country have been used in the construction of the new Parliament building.

Assamneeds to move from making static master plans to strategic master plans for cities considering the rivers or water bodies as focal points in the planning process, director ofthe NationalInstitute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) HiteshVaidyasaid.

Speaking at a training programme for urban planners on making river-sensitive master plans, Vaidya said non-strategic master plans have turned the five rivulets in Guwahati into sewage channels. Therefore, there is a need for action-oriented and strategic master plans for the cities so that the rivers can be covered.

It must be mentioned that Guwahati has five important rivulets and all of them are dying due to rapid encroachments and indiscriminate waste disposal. As many as 54 out of the 104 in the state have master plans but all are in the draft stage. Vaidya said, The plans implemented to date remained ineffective for some reasons. The demography as well as Geography have changed over the decades. Encroachment and lack of scientifically separate sewage channels have been stumbling blocks.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched Odisha for Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence for Youth initiative on Monday.

The has roped in international technology company Intel for the initiative. In the first phase, the initiative will be implemented in Bhubaneswar, Puri and Cuttack.

The CM said Artificial Intelligence (AI) holds an incredible potential to reshape our world and drive progress. The initiative would augment digital Literacy of the masses.

He advised all Government departments to take advantage of these programme and train officials for enabling them to be at the forefront of the AI revolution.

Electronics & IT Minister Tusharkanti Behera said the AI initiative would put Odisha in the top league among the States in India.

Rs 717 crore spent on infra projects in Madurai city in 2 years: Min

A total of 717.10 crore has been spent by the on Infrastructure development ofMaduraicorporation in the last two years, said municipal administration minister K NNehru, after inaugurating Obula Padithurai bridge and various other projects in Madurai.

Apart from the 23crore bridge, the minister also inaugurated a park on the Vaigai riverbank and a few ramps constructed in the river

embankments under the Vaigai river front development at a total cost of 84 crore.

He also inaugurated the newly built golden anniversary entrance arch of Madurai corporation and laid the foundation stone for three combined water supply schemes ofTamil NaduWater Supply and Drainage (TWAD) board that will benefit a total of 11 town panchayats.
A total of 1536.31 crore has been allocated in three schemes for laying water pipelines from Vaigai dam to Alanganallur, Vadipatti, Chellampatti, Thirumangalam, Thiruparankundram and Kallikudi. A total of 240.45 crore has been set part for laying water pipeline from Vaigai dam to T Kallupatti and Sedapatti and 127.18 crore for Melur and Kottampatti.

Kerala tops women driving aspirants’ list, shows national data

Data from 2022 shows that 40% of the nearly 11 lakh people who received learner’s licence (LL) in Kerala were women.

Goa came a distant second with 33% of the total persons receiving LL being women.Uttar Pradeshand Bihar fared poorly with 5% and 3% respectively.

LL is valid only for a period of six months and one must pass a written test on road rules, regulations, signals, signs, road manners, defensive driving and other factors to get a driving license.
