As many as 15,191 people inRajasthanhave benefited from the Centres and Skill development Programme (ESDP) between2018-19 and 2022-23 (up to February 1, 2023). It is just 3.4% of the total ESDP beneficiaries in the whole country, which stands at 4.34 lakh, according to data from the skill development and entrepreneurship ministry.
ESDP scheme runs with the objective of motivating young people representing different sections of the Society, including SC/ST, Women, physically challenged, ex-servicemen andBPLpeople, to consider self-EMPLOYMENT or entrepreneurship as a career option
Only 98,640 jobs, which is 3% of the total 29.28 lakh in the country, were generated under Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in Rajasthan in the last five years (from 2017-18 to 2021-22), data from the ministry has revealed.
Rs 423.51 crore was allocated under PMEGP in the last five years, and Rs 381.31 crore of it has been disbursed so far. In Rajasthan, 12,330 units have been assisted under the scheme
