On the 75th anniversary of independence, Chhattisgarh will be awarded for being one of the cleanest states of India by President Ram Nath Kovind in New Delhi on November 20.

Swachchh Sarvekshan is organized every year among all cities and states by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Urban cleanliness is assessed under various parameters.

Chhattisgarh has again displayed its best in cleanliness while maintaining its status as the cleanest state in the country.

Chhattisgarh will not only be awarded as a state but its 61 cities will also be rewarded for their excellent performance. Chhattisgarh will be where the highest number of civic bodies will be rewarded.

Chhattisgarh has also been judged the first Open Defecation Free state in the country.
