Aiming to create more jobs in the state, theUttar Pradeshgovernment organised a mega loan mela on Thursday in which banks have pledged to disburse loans worth Rs 2.95 lakh crore to various MSME units in the state. Speaking on the occasion, chief ministerYogi Adityanathsaid that the MSME push through the ODOP scheme and other policy decisions turned youth in UP from jobseekers to job providers.
The CM said that when he took charge of the state, he got the legacy of a virtually dead MSME sector.
The combined effect of right policy and hard work put in by MSME unit owners had made UP a land of job providers rather than that of jobseekers,” the CM said. He also said that UP’s credit-debit (CD) ratio has improved from 46% in 2017 to 53% in 2022. He urged the banks to encourage the young MSMEs and start-ups so that the CD ratio touches the 60% mark at the end of 2027.
