The Thalavadi forest range officials launched an operation to capture tusker ‘Karuppan’, which had entered Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture fields in the area and destroyed crops on several occasions in the past few days.
On January 14, forest officials made an attempt to capture the elephant through ‘Operation Black’ and failed. The elephant escaped into the forest even after it was shot with sedative darts thrice.
