‘Maharashtra must have vehicle scraping units in all districts’

Chief minister Ekanth Shinde and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis held a meeting regarding projects in the state with Union road and transport minister.

Shinde directed officials to complete projects in time by removing bottlenecks in national highways, flyovers and road work in the state. Gadkari said the state must start a vehicle scraping unit in every district and set up 150-200 such units.

Gadkari said the central government announced a policy to scrap vehicles older than 15 years and appealed to the to start scrapping units in every district inMaharashtra. Officials said Gadkari suggested starting 150-200 units, four in large and developed districts and two in small undeveloped districts.
