Maharashtra government rolls out Rs 50,000 farmers’ incentive scheme

The began disbursal of Rs 50,000 as part of an incentive scheme for farmers who have been repaying their short-term crop loans on time under theMahatma Jyotirao Phule loan waiver scheme. The scheme had earlier been announced by the MVA.

Rs 2,500 crore was transferred directly to 6.9 lakh bank accounts of farmers.CM Eknath Shindesaid Maharashtra was the first state to make such simultaneous transfers directly to the bank accounts of farmers. In all, Rs 4,700 crore will be transferred to 16 lakh farmers.
