The proposed industrial belt inAgar-Malwais attracting close to Rs300 crore investments from mostly micro and smallscale industries of the region.
The Madhya Pradesh industrial development Corporation (MPIDC),Indore, has taken possession of around 29.7 hectares for developing the multi-sector industrial belt. The proposed belt is expected to house around 200 micro and small units from engineering, packaging, automobile and other sectors.
As per the department, the industrial belt in Agar-Malwa is expected to give EMPLOYMENT to close to 2,000-2,500 people of the area. The industry department has held talks with industries and associations of the region to understand their requirements and facilities anticipated from the proposed industrial belt. A senior official from MPIDC, Indore said, Over 150 applications have come to us from various industries who are interested in taking up land in theAgar-Malwa industrial belt. This greatly helps us in understanding the interest level of industries though as per the rule, we will invite expressions of interest from industries.
According to the industry department, the phase one development of the Agar-Malwa industrial belt will cost Rs32 crore.
