The KarnatakaRajya RaithaSangha (KRRS) and Hasiru Sene activists staged a dharna near old deputy commissioners office in the city on Thursday urging the to repealKarnatakaPrevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, 2020. The protesters said the Act is detrimental to the interests of farmers to take care of aged cattle.
They also asked the government to withdraw the three controversial farm laws the Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act (ECA), 2020.
