Under this non-financial agreement, Vasan will work to improve the livelihood of PVTGs within the scope of the UDAN project run by JSLPS. To revive the cultivation of honey, work will be done to increase the income of tribal families by connecting them with improved cultivation of honey. After signing the MoU, Sahay said that Jharkhand Millet Mission will be launched, through which the goal of making the State Malnutrition free along with livelihood for tribal families will also be achieved.
Vasan will provide technical assistance from millet production to processing, Marketing etc. This initiative will help in making the PVTG families of the State prosperous by linking them with the means of sustainable livelihood. Sabyasachi Das, Director of Vasan, said that Vasan will help JSLPS in the implementation of Millet Mission in the State and will help in providing marketing and processing facilities from honey production. Through this initiative, the Birhor, Asur, Sabar, Pahariya, Korba, Birjia and Parhiya tribal groups will get direct benefits.
Through this initiative, an increase in the income of PVTG families will also be ensured by establishing a model of through backyard Poultry in 20 blocks of the State.
Under the UDAN project, about 15,000 PVTG families of the state will be linked to the backyard poultry and madua based value chain. Through this initiative, about 15,000 tribal (PVTG) families will be linked with millet production and processing by launching the Jharkhand Millet Mission in the JSLPS state. Along with this, Vasan will also provide technical help for the capacity building of the community, marketing and market system including Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture and production. Organic Farming of madua will be encouraged through PVTG families so that they can get good prices for the products.
