The Jharkhand government has directed all administrations of 24 districts to complete the assessment of Covid-19 beds by the end of this week.
According to the department of Health, medical Education and family welfare, the move is in preparation for the predicted third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Anticipating that the third wave will affect children, each district hospital has also been directed to set up 20-bed PICUs. The state estimated that it will require 502 high-dependency units for paediatric Covid cases during the third wave.
