Indore to host World snooker, billiards

The countrys cuesportsconnoisseurs are in for a treat as after a gap of nine years, India will host the IBSF World Snooker (15-red) Championships and the World Billiards Championships in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, from October 15-30.

The IBSF events will be held at the Yeshwant Club in Indore, confirmed Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) president S Balasubramaniam on Friday. This will be the first time the country will host both the events in the same year. Bengaluru last played host to both snooker in 2014 and billiards way back in 2008.

India had officially bid for the event last year, by the previous team, and the IBSF confirmation came two days ago, said the BSFI chief. Over 250 cueists from 40-45 countries are expected to take part in both IBSF World events.
