In a major push for infrastructure development, Prime MinisterNarendra Modi laid the foundation stone and dedicateddevelopment projectsworth around Rs 7,500 crore to the nation during his visit toRaipur.

This includes five National Highway projects, worth about Rs 6,400 crore, the doubling of the 103km-long Raipur-Khariar Road RAILWAY line, which has been completed at a cost of Rs 750 crore, and a 17km-long new railway line connecting Keoti with Antagarh, developed at a cost of Rs 290 crore.

The PM also dedicated to the nation a 60,000 metric-tonne bottling plant of the Indian Oil Corporation at Korba, which was built at a cost of over Rs 130 crore, and flagged off the Antagarh-Raipur train via video link.Modiinitiated the distribution of 75 lakh Ayushman Bharat cards.

The two new economic corridors for Chhattisgarh pass through aspirational districts that were once called backward, and where violence and once prevailed, Modi said, adding that the Raipur-Vishakhapatnam Economic Corridor will become a “new lifeline of this region”, cutting journey time by half.
